May 11, 20224 yr Author Popular Post Laundry Detail is tonight...about a third of the way done...however, I did a wee bit of work during the first load.. Bottom edge of the top..got a visit from.. And, yes I used that No. 80 scraper....drawer front needed a wee bit of work, before the knob could be installed.. Tried to match up the grain between the front and the knob...top was also installed onto the base... But, the rest of the items will have to wait a day, or two.. Laundry Detail...too many round trips for the right leg....let alone final sand this table, and get ready to Shellac it up.... Maybe Thursday? Stay tuned
May 11, 20224 yr Nicely done Bandit. Another treasure from the dungeon. Anxious to see once the finish is applied. There were some nice looking grains in the rough lumber.
May 12, 20224 yr Author Popular Post PIP #1 (1st coat Of Amber Shellac) A little rough, yet shiny....#2? Trying to cut down the GLARE...#3 Overhead light hitting just a little too much...#4? Yes, I did the drawer, too... Will work on it again, tomorrow... Stay tuned..
May 17, 20224 yr Author Popular Post Table id now DONE! Needs to head upstairs and go sit in the Gazebo.... Rubbed the varnish out, after a hand sanding....time to show off a little? From the front...only stands 22" tall, BTW.. Was trying to get the grain to "wrap around" the corners...came close... Simple wooden knob, as this is supposed to be in the "Shaker" style... Someday, I just MIGHT get the hang of doing these dovetail thingies... A view from the "top"? While the top IS 7/8" thick..a beveled edge can give it a thinner, lighter look.. And, to think...Norm Abram did one of these in a 30 minute show... Guess I am just a tad slower... Post this in the Gallery? Thanks for looking in...
May 17, 20224 yr Popular Post I'd say you knocked this one out of the park! Norm would be proud of what you did!!
