A little different format this week. No lathe and different scenery

There were some additional comments and information about @HandyDan's finials. Please see his post for what was said-

@Kevin Beitz is looking for a non-typical lathe head stock. Check out his request and see if you may know where he can locate one-

@Gene Howe gave me a heads-up on a group that is helping combat veterans thru woodturning. Please checkout this YouTube video and share it with others to help get the word out-

Rick Turns posted the September woodturning videos list-

It's not too early to start thinking about turning those Christmas ornaments. Here, Sam Angelo does a birdhouse-

And, Mike Peace let us know about this ornament contest-

Mike Peace also added a video on making a tail stock cone center. These are very useful items especially when turning projects that have drilled/hollowed centers.

Safe turning

Like the beach scene Lew, I could use a few days at the beach.  Paid vacation would be nice....:)

Another action packed post, plenty to watch and read up on next few days.  Thanks!!

Thanks for the post Lew. I have been thinking about a long center point for the live center but wood might do the job

I have a piece of Ironwood, perhaps hard enough to last a long time.:ChinScratch:

Nice info again Lew.  A bit busy for a few days.  Have to watch the videos when I have time.

I've used some really hard cherry and some walnut to make them

@Woodbutcherbynight Thanks! It was nice to get away.

@Gerald Thank You! I have an Easy Wood Tools center and mad some cones that thread onto it. Still need to make one with a little steeper angle to fit a variety of hole diameters.

@HandyDan Thanks!

Very proud to say we jumped on board with Tool Metrix and Easy Wood Tools will be providing all of the turning tools for this great program.  It's a good thing.

Outstanding @Jim from Easy Wood Tools. You all talk the walk and walk the talk for sure! Thank you for your support of our veterans, you guys are awesome!

Thank you, Lew.  A little late but catching up.  The cone center, I have made one of cherry and it works very well.  I used a Forstner bit to make it fit my tailstock center.  then while it was fitted over the tailstock, turned the rest of it down.  Since, I didn't have the funds to purchase one but had plenty of cherry, it has worked for me.  I have a couple.  Hope to make one in the next week or so and will post pictures.

@Jim from Easy Wood Tools, my hat's off to you guys. You're the bestest!
