October 9, 20196 yr Popular Post comment_204457 A little different format this week. No lathe and different scenery There were some additional comments and information about @HandyDan's finials. Please see his post for what was said- @Kevin Beitz is looking for a non-typical lathe head stock. Check out his request and see if you may know where he can locate one- @Gene Howe gave me a heads-up on a group that is helping combat veterans thru woodturning. Please checkout this YouTube video and share it with others to help get the word out- Rick Turns posted the September woodturning videos list- It's not too early to start thinking about turning those Christmas ornaments. Here, Sam Angelo does a birdhouse- And, Mike Peace let us know about this ornament contest- Mike Peace also added a video on making a tail stock cone center. These are very useful items especially when turning projects that have drilled/hollowed centers. Safe turning Report

October 16, 20196 yr comment_205410 Thank you, Lew. A little late but catching up. The cone center, I have made one of cherry and it works very well. I used a Forstner bit to make it fit my tailstock center. then while it was fitted over the tailstock, turned the rest of it down. Since, I didn't have the funds to purchase one but had plenty of cherry, it has worked for me. I have a couple. Hope to make one in the next week or so and will post pictures. Report
