Need to fix clear notifications.

Larry, clear notifications was a third party app we had a paid license for, those apps are gone with the upgrade, but in it's place admins can set pruning times for notifications to drop off your notifications list, I set it for now to 10 days, do you think that is too long or too short?

They cleared once I clicked the bell and then closed the window. Well, I should say, they are still there but the little red number disappeared. Isn't that the way it always worked?

Fred you used to be able to click on Clear Notifications from that drop down list of notifications, it's gone now. Currently we have it set to clear notifications 10 days or older.

@Fred W. Hargis Jr bringing your concern over from the TEST topic, the "Unread Content" issue, I'll have to look into it. I agree with you.

I don't know about you but my notifications list gets pretty long pretty quick.

I agree, it was better when we could each clear our own lists as we see fit, I have a feeling 5 days may be a happy medium. Personally I cleared mine every day.

@Fred W. Hargis Jr, the Unread Content is at the top, it's not obvious though, but once you know where it's at, it's there. See icon in red box.

I generally did too. Occasionally, it would be every other day.

I got into the habit of clearing them as soon as I finished checking them out.

I did too actually John, I really like that, plus by clearing out the notifications, sped up the browsing experience. Seems like folks like it a lot.

Did we lose the "mark site read" button as well?

So far this is the only way I see Fred, but it may change. Click on your profile at top of page.

Just noticed, the current through 4 days out Birthday notification listing is missing. Used to be above the Popular Contributors listing.

A neat function of this software, is you can embed a link, with a preview of the website's content. See example below. I simply copy pasted the link url. Once you copy paste the url, you'll see the preview, there is a little globe with a line through it at the top right of the preview, if you click on the globe, this will turn your link back to a standard url displayed link.

Not everyone wants a link preview like this in their content, because it would crowd the paragraph or not fit in the topic or post design wise, but the option is there.

So go ahead, reply to this ongoing topic and try your hand at copy pasting a link from a website. Have fun!
