Trip to the Harrisburg Woodcraft store to do an Easy Wood Tools demonstration on Saturday.

Domestic duties today. Orders for tomorow pending from HQ. Church Sunday; afterwards, youngest grandsons basketball tournament.

 

Donut rule out a surprise inspection of the donut depository.

Have a few "tapers" to cut...

And..all done..

Back went "Spasm City" so I had to put off using this..

I drew up this plan a couple of weeks ago for a 3-section shelf unit for my granddaughters room.

 

 

The weather finally got nice enough to buy the wood this week, Yesterday I got most of the components cut out.

 

 

Today I did a little bit of test fitting on the tallest section and did a little brain storming, more like brain gusting, on how to mount the adjustable shelves.

 

 

This is what I will be working on this weekend. This will be the largest build I have ever taken on so I am taking it slow and easy to try to minimize the mistakes. Minimize IS a relative term.

l like the design, especially the support under the longer shelves 

Thanks Lew. The vertical legs are 3/4" birch plywood and since the shelves are only 1/2" plywood I felt they needed additional support on all 4 sides. I plan to support the ends of the shelves with probably 1'x3/4" front to back runners. I will then glue and brad nail the shelves to the runners. I think the hardest part is going to be drilling the holes for the adjustable shelf pins. I have already made a couple of jigs to assist me in that endeavor.

Nice design. I'll definitely be following along. Just a suggestion Bubba; a project like this deserves its own thread. You already have a great start for it.

I made a jig for the router to do that. Used a router bushing, evenly space holes, 1/4" router bit. 

The shelf pins i purchased require a 13/64" drill for a snug fit. I created a 12" hardwood jig with 2" spaced holes and a 13/64" bit with a built in depth stop. I just hope it works as good as I  envisioned. 

Still recovering for us. 3 weeks ago a norovirus hit our house.  2 weeks ago it was a respiratory virus causing Bronchitis that is still haunting us. Topping off our wonderful end to Feb was my brother-in-law passing on the 19th and with both of us possibly being contagious we were unable to attend his funeral. Since my wife has lung issues she got to send 3 days in the hospital and still needs oxygen when she's not resting. I'm too stubborn to stay down so I've been spending an hour or two in the shop then in to rest for a few. Doc's say this could hang on for another week or two. not good because in 20 days we are going out to Mr. Morris' back yard.

Went back and cut up the rest of the cedar I started on yesterday. Got to the Ranch to unload and decided it had dried enough to drive to bottom to unload NOT. Got stuck and my little tractor could not pull in until I dug a trench out. Grandson came in while I was out and we went to Mugshots tonight. I feel like that wale rolling in the waves. The poly on bookcase was still a little sticky in places so hopefully tomorrow can knock that down and spray another coat.

Prayers out to you both @John Hechel. Hope you find some relief soon. Prayers for family for the loss of your BIL as well. 

@John Hechel Sending prayers for a speedy recovery. Sorry to hear about your brother-in-law.

Mid 70’s here in Vegas. This weekend I am finishing up the last of the doors in the house and getting them installed. Ready to move on to the next project.

 Went in for a 6-month Cat-scan on Wednesday, will review the results with the Doc this Wednesday. I've been working on this diorama trying to finish but may have pushed too far, went to the chiropractor Thursday to get my back & neck realigned. Neck feels better but going again Tuesday just to be sure.

I use peg board for the spacing of the holes.

@DuckSoup. Prayers Bob for a good outcome from c-scan. Also for back issues. "One day at a time."
