November 26, 20232 yr Looking good but I have one question. Why use diagonal grain on the front brackets since there is no weight there? IMHO straight grain looks better. Of Coarse who is going to get on their head to see it.
November 26, 20232 yr Author Popular Post Best use ....either way it would have been liable to split...diagonal won't split....as they were screwed and glued into place.
November 29, 20232 yr Author Popular Post Got the first coat of this stuff brushed on... Plus, one side and the top got a second coat....AFTER a good hand sanding with 220 paper... Drawers were taken out, clamped in the bench vise, given a coat, and set down on the floor...did not want them to get stuck.. Been known to happen....this is the right side...left side has been sanded and given a second coat... This is the top, after one coat.. Need to find a couple brushes tomorrow...and give the rest a second coat...then I think we are done...I hope..

Now, pay attention please: GET SOME STRONG BACKS TO MOVE THIS FOR YOU ya' hear? Your job is to point and say, "put it right over there please."
November 30, 20232 yr Author Popular Post One last look, before it gets hauled to the Bedroom tomorrow ( with Craig's Help, of course) Everything has had 2 coats of shellac... Plan right now is to haul the drawers up first...THEN the case afterwards.. Top has had 3 coats...and it is hard NOT to get any glare in the picture... Stay tuned
