  • Well is you like walnut I have some poor man's walnut Sweet Gum finished. It does not show in the pictures but tow of these cracked like the spokes of a wheel on the bottom. I filled with epoxy colore

Lew ...simply beautiful. The joinery close up is AMAZING. looks like you mention using your chop saw to create the pattern cuts? You may be aware of the John Beaver method of cutting wave bowls ( if you have a band saw) might be of interest to you also. Some presenters of the John Beaver method are here .

None the less doesn't matter how you make it as long as it good when you are done.... YOU RUNG THE BELL ON THESE

A while back I said I would sho my hallowing setup so 20260517_121639.jpgTop to bottom there is the restraint, bar holder, big boring bar, small bar, and two hand held scrapers and my swan neck tools. All but the last one were made by me. I almost enjoyed making them as much as turning wood, got to get some use out of old MOS training once in a while. Thanks for looking. Forgot little aluminum bar in first row is my cutter holder for sharpening cutters.
