John, how did you link that motion image of the Minions? I used to be able to do that and now cannot. Had a root canal at 8:00am Saturday, 3 weeks and then an appointment for the crown. I have had more funner Saturdays. Fred I hope the pain’s not too bad.
January 23, 20233 yr I guess I won't know for a while. My dentist is on vacation until next week...can't get in until a week from this Wednesday. Having had a root canal before I.too. hope it's not to bad.
January 23, 20233 yr Popular Post So this is the forum for humor, the MOST opinionated subject. And Boss man asked the one guy, with the smallest (to nonexistent) filter, lowest standards, and maybe the most skewed sense of humor, to be the forum host. John had to ask 3 times, because I thought he was joking. So this may be epic! So not to morph into seriousness, but if anyone has ANY thoughts/issues/reservations/questions/or WHATEVER, about anything they see here, PLEASE message me. I’m gonna need some help because I grew up in a sharp tongued, take no prisoners, stick up for yourself cause no one else is gonna, household. I have not read anything here that bothered me. I can be kinda clueless to stuff that bothers people. So since this is my online happy place, where I spend most of my time, and John has graciously decided to motivate me by offering me a trip on the corporate jet for every month that there are no problems on this forum. I will be offering rides to all who play nice, or to include the most people, those who don’t play bad. This is the best bunch of people I have ever found, gathered in one place. Pretty sure most here feel the same way. So GO BRUINS! Our hockey team is doing awesome right now.
January 23, 20233 yr Popular Post @Artie Guess I'll have to post nasty to check how you do Artie. All kidding aside, you'll do a great job here. Yes, the Patriots and Red Sox crashed this year, but the Bruins and Celtics are on a roll. Just sharing the wealth between teams.
January 24, 20233 yr Popular Post Hey @Artie Now that you da man, we gonna have to stop having all that midnight celebrating. But with all that great salary you will get maybe it can be a BIG bash CONGRATS

January 24, 20233 yr Popular Post I managed to find my "Get Up And Go" or it found me, I'm not sure which. The Cobalt is DONE!!! Next up, Bruce informed me his wife informed him that the drains plugged last night. So, after we go haul the tools back this morning, we'll be making a run to their place in Northfield with the rodding machine. If we can remember where we stashed it.
January 24, 20233 yr Popular Post cross cut to 2" thick, keep the pieces organized, one from column A, one from column B, add glue, wait until tomorrow. the design was somewhat constrained by the lumber I was sent. decided not to use the white oak, will use that for another project.
January 24, 20233 yr Popular Post i did the glue up on the scrap piece of granite I keep in the shop (left over from our kitchen project about 10 years ago), as i know it is perfectly flat, not so sure about the workbench. this should minimize how much sanding i need to do later to make it lay flat on that same piece of granite. if your countertop is not flat, that's not my problem. laminate or Corian might not be, but decent granite is.
January 24, 20233 yr Popular Post Crazy times this week, taking a new position at my current company much more in line with my skills. On the home front, still have the in-laws for a couple more weeks and kinda jealous because my FIL gets to spend more time in the shop than I do. That retirement stuff sure looks like fun Since my wife commissioned a new project that has some nicely curved legs, I NEEDED to get some spokeshaves which came in yesterday. Got to unbox them so far but then had a dentist appointment and then back to work. Hopefully I will get to play with those later this week.
January 24, 20233 yr Popular Post sadly, there is very little demand for dried up glue that you have scraped off with an old chisel (it needed sharpening). but my clamps are now all back in their places. counted them all, got 158 (some are not visible). i don't always need them all, but i have them all, just in case...

She was accepted for early acceptance at Univ. of Cincinnati, and awarded two different scholarships. She was one of two local students that were celebrated by the "Bearcat" and a whole busload of UC faculty and admins. She was surprised during her German class. https://www.uc.edu/news/articles/2023/01/decision-day-brings-surprises-and-scholarships-to-future-uc-blue-ash-students.html?fbclid=IwAR3ADEjRjReKEwuc6A1iti8NE2ZEIVghaPTrJRXyVpqqJduyNnjabEW8cug
