Let's all welcome our newest Patriot Woodworker Staff Member, Artie! And thank you Artie for your help!
January 23, 20233 yr Popular Post Congrats Artie! Now that you are management, will you still hang out with us little people? I didn't get anything "done" over the weekend, but I did make progress on that dresser build. After veining all the drawer fronts and chamfering the edges I am back into that long sanding run again. Busy week ahead, not sure when I will be applying finish yet. Today headed south to check out a school auction. A few odd things to look at before the sale closes out tomorrow. We had a big rain over the weekend. If it drys out, I need to mow the weeds and chop up leaves again. May have a job lined up that might run Thurs. to Sun. Not sure on that yet. I also want to start doing the cabinet planning, for real, for the garage. In between all that, sanding and more sanding...
January 23, 20233 yr Cracked a tooth over the weekend, waiting for the dentist to get to work and give him a call (he opens at noon on Mondays). John, how did you link that motion image of the Minions? I used to be able to do that and now cannot.
January 23, 20233 yr Popular Post yippers congrats on the upgrade, lol had an awesome craft show on sat, late afternoon nap to recoop energy spent spewing sales pitches. , sunday, late riser, installed some shelves in office area, relocated some storage items, went thru old const. blue prints i'd collected they went to file ''13'', ole gal decided, yep, we need one more shelf, so, gotta hit the home dip joint for a few 1x2s for cleats and misc. today well lets see, just have stuff to do, and did to decide to stack the laser engravers, so a new double story cabt is or may be in works, and i've yet to fire up the 3d printer, its been so chilley and that is one toy that needs warmth. so probably have to build a enclosure for it, still reading about those, i'm a slow learner. thank good ness i have a talented compooter guy to assist and make me look good. happy monday, gonna be a hoot. rj in az
January 23, 20233 yr The Stepson just had to say it first thing we got to the barn. "Today should be smooth sailing." You just know "yhpruM" heard that! Fought with the steering column intermediate shaft for almost two hours before finally giving up and ending up going about 40 miles round trip kiddy corner accross the county for a replacement. The shaft wouldn't budge froze solid after only two years on the vehicle, at least it was covered under warranty. Took fifteen minutes to install the replacement. The clutch job is done, and then we moved on to the rear brakes, of course the drums are froze to the hubs so fire up the torch and finally got them broke loose only to find I didn't bring my brake adjustment tools with so couldn't get the shoes to back off so I could get the drums off. Going back this morning, and I hope the heck "yhpruM" doesn't make a repeat performance.
January 23, 20233 yr Popular Post Plans are for the less adventurous among us. Waste of time. For me, at least. I never fulfill mine, anyway.
January 23, 20233 yr At the doctor now for bandage removal and then this afternoon begins outpatient PT. Now that sounds like fun, don’t it.
January 23, 20233 yr Popular Post Today is a "waiting for UPS" day. Some joint connector bolts, some cherry iron-on veneer, and some brass bars should show up today or tomorrow. Might pursue getting a new battery for my ICE van that has been sitting unused in my garage for a year or so. Bought a Chevy Bolt but kept the van thinking I still needed it for hauling stuff. Apparently hauling doesn't happen as often as I expected it would.

January 23, 20233 yr Popular Post Having a tough time finding my "Get Up And Go" this morning, has anybody seen it?
January 23, 20233 yr Popular Post Congrats, @Artie!!! Still TAD as the Admiral's Driver. She's doing rehab 3 times a week. Right knee so driving will not happen soon. Mimi grew up driving a manual transmission, right leg does gas and brakes.

Get Up and Go How do I know my youth has been spent: Because my get-up-and-go, got up and went But in spite of all that, I'm able to grin When I think where my get-up-and-go has been Old age is golden, I've heard it said, But sometimes I wonder as I go to bed My ears are in a drawer, my teeth in a cup, My eyes on a table until I wake up When I was young my slippers were red I could kick my heels right over my head When I grew older my slippers were blue But I could still dance the whole night through Now that I am old my slippers are black I walk to the corner and puff my way back The reason I know my youth is spent My get-up-and-go got up and went I get up each morning dust off my wits Pick up the paper and read the "orbits" If my name is missing, I know I'm not dead So I eat a good breakfast and go back to bed How do I know my youth is all spent? My get-up-and-go has got up and went! But, in spite of it all, I’m able to grin And think of the places my getup has been!

January 23, 20233 yr Popular Post Went to granddaughter's HS this morning (the largest school in the state). She was accepted for early acceptance at Univ. of Cincinnati, and awarded two different scholarships. She was one of two local students that were celebrated by the "Bearcat" and a whole busload of UC faculty and admins. She was surprised during her German class.
January 23, 20233 yr Challenging past few days. Step-father was released Saturday afternoon back to the nursing home. Been there mostly. Will be going in again this afternoon. Hes getting EXCELLENT, attentive care there. Lot of uncertainties at the moment. My step-sister has POA...I'll leave it at that. "Pops" 'baby' sister passed Saturday evening. She was 92. He's now sole surviving sibling. Her funeral is tomorrow afternoon next county west about 1/2 hour away. Depends on how he's doing if I attend. Remainder of week remains reactionary beyond minimal routine tasks.
