The drywall guy showed today and finished up so now we can get this room done. Seems like it’s taking forever. I glued up the pieces for the countertop today. Tomorrow everything should be dry enough to paint.

The first of the uppers is finished. Tomorrow it’s on to the other two uppers.  Paul

The last carcass is done except for the backing. Now it’s on to the drawers. Looks like there will be about six drawers and eight pull out shelves. I’m definitely going to need more maple.  Paul

Another long day and drawers are almost done. Three more to go. I ordered the drawer slides today so I’m just about to start the demo of the room.  Paul

It is looking nice, Paul.  What is the plan for the wiring you have in one of the upper cabinets?

Well the out of town guests are gone so all my excuses for not getting back to work just evaporated. I got all the drawers installed in the lower, shelving in the other upper and the drawer fronts made and first coat of finish on. Onward and upward.

Do you have double doors on your workshop?!?

It’s a three car garage. There are two sets of doors. There are standard roll up doors on the two car and one car side on the inside. On the outside I built and installed outer doors on both sides to act as heat shields and according to the boss they look better. On the two car side there are four doors. Each set of two are hinged at the jam side and also in the middle. It allows me two open up one, two, three or all four doors depending on the temperature outside. I had to resort to this because that side of the house gets intense heat in the summer and when the sun hit those aluminum roll up doors the AC could not keep up and it turned into an oven. With the outer doors installed I can keep it at a comfortable 70-75 degrees all day.

Thanks Lew. The wife called for flush wooden handles and that’s what we came up with. It’s a three step router design that was quick and simple to do. I used the Shaper Origin to cut the blank oval opening but could have just as easily used a template and collet, then a 1/8” radius round over for the face and the bottom is a cove bit to cut out the recess.
Paul

love the drawers. What is that a stereo in the laundry?
