I’ve been helping a friend lay laminate flooring Thursday and Friday. May not see the ball drop at midnight.

Plans for today include drugging one of the puppers so she doesn't freak out about the fireworks, waking the wife to see the New Year, ordering pizza, and puttering about the shop.

This weekend I am going to try to get the rest of the undercabinet for the shopsmith completed and start tearing the headstock apart on the new one to see what needs to be fixed/replaced/cleaned etc...

If I find some extra time, I will think I will try to start optimizing the shop a bit and see if I can make things a bit more efficient out there as far as workflow and figuring out where things need to be.  Right now everything has been kind of organic as far as where things are and I need to put some serious thought into how things will be organized in the future so I can start running actual dust collection.

The kids went home today. Went to HD with other son and bought a new angle grinder as the old HF had stopped. Found stair stringers but no oak treads so that will mean another trip or use the thinner stock I have in shop. Well got home and changed the Arbortech to new grinder. Just for the sake of trying I pounded the old grinder on the bench and plugged in .....it lives. Ok yeah it may quit again tomorrow.

Tomorrow will take down the Christmas decor in front yard or at least start to. Oh yeah we still have Christmas Ham and butter beans ( sorry no peas cooked).

Probably help our son make a face frame for his vanity, today. Might get to the drawers this weekend. Reconditioned my planer sled yesterday. Monday will see it in operation with that rough cut walnut. Next step is to introduce it to the FrankenSmith for jointing. I could play the Bandit card and, break out the planes, but that's way too much work! ;)

Continuing on with the ceiling in the media room. This is the really boring and repetitive part. I also have to help Ileene carry about a thousand DVD’s up the stairs so she can start loading those drawers. I’m pretty sure the eight drawers I made are not going to be enough but I don’t want to make more drawers unless she needs them.

I have heard the difference between haggis and a bowling ball is that if you really had to, you could eat a bowling ball.

There used to be a fish, not much bigger than a Minnow....caught by the net full....half of the catch, they'd hang out to dry...maybe grab one as a snack on the way past the lines...the other 1/2 of the catch?    They would dig a hole in the ground...layer of leaves, layer of fish, layer of leaves...until the hole was filled up....let this mess sit a few days....the brown sauce at the bottom of the hole was for dipping the dried fish into.....

You could smell the village a LONG ways off, if the wind was just right.....worse than Spring Kimchi.....
