We are going to start off this week with another incredibly important cause in which we can all be involved. It costs us nothing but a little time and can make a huge difference in a young persons life.

@Gerald posted a little vessel he turned-

 

This turned box will hold "Beads Of Courage" for the recipient. Gerald and the Magnolia Woodturners have been making these containers and giving them to kids battling cancer. This video tells us about the Beads of Courage program-

 

 

Gerald also provide us with additional information on how to participate in this wonderful program. The Beads of Courage organization has partnered with the AAW to garner interest in turning the bowls-

When it came time to finish off the bottom, the Cole jaws on the Easy Chuck stretched just far enough!

 

This one is setting on the workbench with the poly finish slowly drying.

Thanks for the mention. Lew I like the square bowl but what caught my eye was the foot on the cherry bowl. I have done rounded lip but not a foot and will have to try that now.

@Gerald Thank You! Can't take credit for the idea, saw it someplace on the Internet and decided to give it a go. Now if I just hadn't ruined the entire turning by going against my better judgement and putting a gloss finish on it. What made matters worse is that I guess the finish was old and the surface didn't smooth out. I guess I'll try my hand at buffing!
