Our Patriot Turners-

@RustyFN posted another one of his beautiful segmented bowls. I really like how he made the bottom of it.

 

Judging from all the positive comments, our turners were in agreement on this beauty. See more images in Rusty's post-

 

 

@Gerald was turning a vase and found a small "treasure" within the wood. It really wasn't something he was happy about-

For The Newbies-

Turning a small vase is one way to get into hollowing. Here Alan Stratton shows us a technique for hollowing.

Rusty's segmented bowls are made up of glued up rings from individual pieces. There is a device called a "Ring Master" that can also be used to create the rings for a bowl blank. I thought this was awesome-

I had a little time this week to play around with a chunk of Mulberry. This is not the shape I was looking for when I started. Also a couple of pieces of bark came off even though I saturated the edges with CA.

I'm a little late to the party on this but another nicely put post @lew, I'm considering just making my own work piece rest for the lathe I have the welder I have plate steel and plasma cutter so I can cut that all up quite easily... All I've got to get is the in line skate wheels which I will probably order off amazon at some point.  Had some issues locating my grounding clamp for my CT-200 3 in 1 welder fortunately I found what I needed so looks like I'll be doing a bit of welding soon.
