December 17, 20205 yr Author Popular Post I finished one more turning today. The wife reminded me of someone I had forgotten. Oh well. Mad cow disease ? I found some glass rounds that we must have ordered a while back so I cranked out a pie stand. I’m continuing to use the black walnut scraps. Paul

December 19, 20205 yr Author Popular Post This morning it was decided that another platter/pie stand was needed so I cranked out another one this morning. Paul
December 19, 20205 yr Popular Post And it has nothing whatsoever to do with having a new lathe sitting there?
December 19, 20205 yr Yes, you have a nice lathe, much better than a Shopsmith. However, you always did exceptional work on the SS. But, they are not as steady as a regular lathe. Good for small spindles or something that is basically rounded. Longer spindles will vibrate after rounding. But, it is a good tool. Paul, I expect after your adjusting curve, you will only refine your talents and products. These pie/cake platters are stunningly beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
December 19, 20205 yr Paul, the ice cream scoop in the original topic, how do you secure the scoop to the handle? Thanks
December 20, 20205 yr Author Popular Post It has a long threaded 3/8” shank and I epoxy them in. Paul
