Made to hold 16 saws....right now it also holds that weight in dust..:BangingHead:.something better needs built.  :ChinScratch: Something that will enclose this things, so that once I wipe them down nice and clean...they WILL stay that way.:SaluteandRun:    Have a couple 1 x 10 x 6' planks....will start cutting them down into  box, of some sort.   I doubt IF the plexiglass windows will work..:(..plan is the hang the 3 panel saws running around in the shop on the inside of the doors.  You can see a handle or two, peeking around the edge of this til...

Stay tuned...this might get..messy..:cowboy:

This should be good.  How about a partial window on each door?  Break out the good notebook paper and maybe a ruler?:ChinScratch:

Part of doing any "Plan"....will be taking a saw, and laying it down on a board.    Mainly to see which way the saw with fit best....and NOT just tip back out....like the one I have right now...Need to cut a piece from the 1 x 10,  lay a saw on it....moosh it around until it looks right....then go from there.

Build a box-like cabinet around a stack of saws.   Whether to hang the saws by their handles ( slots in a 1 x 4?....spaced?)  or set the handles down onto a shaped 1 x 3...like I have now....with a slotted keeper up near the toes of the saws.

Door(s):   May do a single door....and add a plywood panel in a frame as the door.  Then the 3 short Panel saws will get a handle insert like in the door of the tool cabinet. ..and a keeper near their toes, to prevent them from rattling around.

Have a big,OLD Rip saw I can use for lay out work....There is a Frame Saw....maybe hang that on the outside on the door.....as a way to let anyone know where the saws are... will also thin the herd of the saws....down to the "Usables" as to ones I will use...some will go hang out elsewhere.    Backsaws?   Stay tuned.....

Then wait on Moose & Squirrel to deliver a paper plan to go by....

Line is about where a saw cut will be, as this plank will be both sides of the new til.   Those saws?:WonderScratch:

Atkins, Silver Steel, 8ppi crosscut, with the"Perfection" handle. :Praise:  Was about the longest length saw.  Was using it to lay out which way looked best, for hanging the saws in the til.

The "other saw"?:WonderScratch:

A Disston D-8 from about1945-49 era...11 ppi cross cut.   Horns on the handles are slightly different between these two....will see how these hang by the handles, instead of standing on a dowel rod....:OldManSmiley:

Will see how many parts I can get out of these leftovers...:DevilLaughing:

Stay tuned..:cowboy:

Maybe hang this saw up on the outside of the door, to let me know what's inside..B)

More of a crosscut saw, for now.....may take it down to Piqua, OH, and have Chuck sharpen it up..:ChinScratch:

Stay tuned....:cowboy:

Try getting a square to line this up..:WonderScratch: This was soon on the way to the scrap pile.:ArguingSmileys:..then cut in the middle, and then on the far end..to get 2 pieces.

Then clamped these so they will STAY FLAT..:ArguingSmileys:.these two will be the top and bottom of the til...next..

Cut the other 1 x 10 into two blanks...33" long...end cuts weren't up to snuff, so..:MachineGun:

Skinny piece USED to be the middle of a 1 x 8 plank...decided to make the saw hangers...these two will do the "hanging":ChinScratch:

Why saw the middle out?:o

Thanks to a couple knots, this started bowing right on the saw.   Saw Hangers?:WonderScratch:

Will be hanging the saws by their handles...so, need a slot for each saw..:OldManSmiley:

Saw's blade was raised all the way up...then the two blanks ran through, so the slots will line up.  One done...

2099005817_SawTilProject.secondsawholder.JPG.f5883b5dd2f924d43ec463654c059033.JPG

Two done, was trying to leave a space between the handles....and...

1264619637_SawTilProject5holdersdone.JPG.5ec2d0963e9134785049d89c73972fe7.JPG

5 spaces for saws done.   Non-slotted edge goes against the back of the case.   May run a few LONG screws in through the back.  :OldManSmiley:

Maybe tomorrow, I can start on some dovetails?    Saw Hangers will get a stopped dado to sit in.  Plywood back will sit in a rebate, glued and screwed in place..

That should last me until the weekend?  :WonderScratch:Then see about building a door?:ChinScratch:

Stay tuned...:cowboy:

Will wait until tomorrow, before trying any shop time....hope nobody minds....:ChinScratch:

Have had a few of these things before.....sometimes  called Mini-Strokes.:o....effects last a day, maybe...then things straighten out.

Have had enough of them, that the "drill" is fairly simple.....sit or lie down for the day....at least this time around, nothing went numb...THEN they get excited...
