The when has nothing to do with the where. I'm missing two fingers from an accident on the tablesaw in 1985. Personally I don't care if they make it in Russia as long as it works...

Best job in the world, IMO!  Nothing so sweet as a super-hug from a grandchild.

Over 20 years as a full-time meat cutter, and about 30 years as a hobbyist woodworker. I've got all my digits, complete. You can have your SawStop.

I worked for a company in the 90's called Bystone Cabinets. The owners brother Mike Blystone  laughed one day and said I must have been an idiot to have got my hand in the table saw. A few years later one of the guys told nme how Mike got it hand in the saw as a board jumped and out of reaction he put his hand down on  the blade.  I didn't think it was funny or anything. But you just never know when operating machinery.

Nobody is immune from injury....

It has a lot to do with the company owners tactics, people just don't like to be told my way or...

OSHA would have a fit seeing my old Tilt-Top table saws, but they do what I need them to do.

I don't do full size sheet good cuts on these saws. Never liked doing them on any table saw.

Accidents usually happen when one gets in a hurry, or someone else distracts them for just that split second.

About 25 years ago I was working at Liberty Coach, and was cutting a 4' X 8' sheet of veneered plywood on a Uni-Saw with a big built around table when one guy came up and slapped me on the back. The saw kicked that sheet right back into me, and about folded me in half. The bosses son hadn't seen what happened and immediately tried blaming me. He said I was going to pay for that sheet of veneered plywood.

Luckily the boss saw the whole thing through the office window that overlooked the shop floor, came down from the office and immediately fired the guy who did the back slapping. The guy was one of his son's friends.

I'm pretty sure the only NA made saw anymore is the Northfield, and while I'm not sure what the price is...I'd bet it's approaching 5 figures.

Hopefully this doesn't turn into a Sawstop conversation. Way to many across the forums and I've  already been kicked one for a Sawstop discussion..

There are plenty of other tools and machinery in a shop that will easily take a bite out of you if you don't pay attention to what your doing.
