Thoughts on a TPW gathering?

Featured Replies

According to Google it’s a 12 hour ride from Pepperell. If we’re bringing the Missus’s, that may be a two day trip in each direction. Can’t say I’m in, yet, but I like it. If the Missus’s stay home (or at least mine does) it’s one day, each way. Dunno if AlB or Courtland are innerested, (only two on map near me), I got no problem with some passengers.

My wife Tami and I on a couple of vacations have visited and stayed with both Ron Dudelston in Indiana and John Moody in Alabama. We had a great time hanging out together and it was a lot of fun. Tami

First off Fred, kudos2 to you for the idea and willingness to host. A very generous, thoughtful and gracious offer. I think this is a great idea for those who can attend. The number of Ohioans on TPW

Thanks Dave, as for you Kelly...can't you talk Morris into use of the company jet? (and bring him with you) I mean you are a psuedo-employee.

Gene, it’s only that I still need the job that I gotta say no. If I was retired I’d love to take a month off, do some driving, and be in Albuquerque at the day and time of your choosing! I’ve always wanted to take a year or two, and drive around this country (alas, another dream with no likelihood of being achieved :( )

Even if just three show up this year, this is how these gatherings start, three this year, 5 next year, word gets out that it's a fun thing to do, then 15 the following year, then in a few years you got 50 folks showing up. Even if one shows up, I think it's worthwhile.

Just spitballing here, but maybe eventually it could be worked into a booth at one of the woodworking shows?

Just as well swing through Texas and pick up @Smallpatch too since you're that close. Maybe @Stick486 would meet the group at the bottom of the mountain; and since you'd be in Colorado anyway, @Ron Altier probably would enjoy some thicker air to breath...Anyone of you have a bus by chance?:P

I drive a Honda Fit, great gas mileage, comfort for 5, not so much.

cities and crowds terrify me...

...I feel your pain...I don't leave the house except to take my "ward" to fulfill her Rx social calendar.
