The boss asked me if I could make her an egg tea light in time for Easter. So, I took a break from the dippers and did this over the last few days. Overall I'm happy with it, the narrow end is a little fat but not to bad and she loves it so that's ok. It was my thought to put "He is risen" or just "Risen" on the back but just couldn't make it look right to me eye. It was also my original thought to stipple the "halos" but I'm so glad I waited as I like them the way they are. The egg itself is maple and the base is spalted beech. Thanks for looking!! Steve

My wife asked for me to make a cross for our grandson as a conformation gift from us. She wanted Yellow Hart and something red. I changed her mind. Purple has a special Easter significance and we decide on purple hart as the other wood

I just finished the last wooden egg and added it to the 10 others to complete Karen's Easter basket. Each egg is turned out of hardwood and I used a chatter tool to create the distinctive designs. Getting used to the tool, speed and applications was fun. Then I applied some different techniques with paint, markers and pencils and I learned as I went. The first few had to be redone and I also kept some that looked great, but weren't perfect egg shapes.

This is an updated view of an earlier picture. It's where I was rebuilding the wood. That whole dark area was rebuilt with the sawdust and CA glue that was shown as drying in the previous picture I'm pretty happy with it. It doesn't make it look like glass, but then doesn't make it look sloppy either. -

A cherry burl "egg" bottle stopper head that I am rebuilding the top of, because it was mostly non existent. Using the sawdust from the turning itself to build the top and smooth it off.
