Mom used to collect teddy bears and the last count that I'm aware of was somewhere north of 500. After dad passed last year, the collection had to be broken up and she's down to just an even dozen. The door to her apartment at the assisted living facility is rather bland so I built this to add to her collection. This way everybody gets to share in a bit of her hobby. This is mesquite, red oak and ERC. Approx. 9 1/2" high by 7 1/2" wide. Used my bandsaw since the crappy little scroll saw I have wouldn't even scratch the mesquite. Not the best fit-up but I can live with it since it's the first try into the intarsia world. I did learn a lot and may even try some more in the future.

Hi Everyone So-I decided to change coarse a little and start a new project. I have 4 grandkids and the oldest one just had his 10th birthday. I asked what he might like for "Gramps" to make him and he said he really liked " Pandas". We found a piece of free clip-art he liked so I drew up the pattern and created the subject for my next Intarsia project. 23 pieces from Peruvian Walnut , Holly, Ebony, Brownheart and Lignum Vitae. Stay tuned- this will be fun!!

This was going to be a bird house front. I started with a cedar fence board and you can see how it came out. My wife may want to use it as it is and hang it from a small tree. She is not sure yet, so for the time being it is a bench ornament

We have a wonderful friend that has a house in the mountains above Gatlinburg and has been gracious enough to share it with us at times. I am making a new sign to hang out by the road at the drive with the name of the house, a bear and the house number. I had had a nice piece of sycamore that was thick enough to mill out the sign on both sides. I’ve got all the CNC work finished, just need to do some sanding and a little staging and then a good clear coat. The sign is 20x20” The bear was downloaded from the Vectric’s site. Looking forward to getting this finishes so we can make another trip up there for a weekend to hang it. There are several Bears that hang out at the house and like to visit the deck. And one one just likes to relax. A nice ice peaceful place to visit and can’t wait to run back up and put this neat sign up. Hope the bears like it!
