  1. Found her sitting on wife's dresser and she told me she wants a few twins if that's possible... funny how wooden angels can talk....Well I have all the ingredients here and there and I might throw in a real rock instead of the wood she stands on...So why not since I got to drink about 60 bottles of GA so this project will take a break while I get my tongue red four or five times a day for a few days so I can get started on these angels twins... I will turn on my Dremel tonight so it will be good and warm in the morning when I start slinging wood chips on my clean floor...I even just restocked my used up roll of bailing wire with a fresh new roll so hey.... I just last week had to saw up some fallen large tree limbs the wind done knocked down so these mesquite thingys are fixin to be turned into angels. Also I got a few patterns for carving projects laying on the table saw so don't know which will get the most attention to start with... I did take a break this morning and watched the women's soccer finals and it was a great game, well better for the American rooters anyway.
  2. Got the angel ornaments done. There is 30 of them. Started with an inch and a half square blank, turned it round and measured two inches for the body and three quarters inch for the head. Drilled a 5/8" hole in the bottom 3/4" deep and hollowed it out some to take some weight off. Turned the body. Shaped the head and cut the ornament free. Turned it around and put it in the chuck to sand the top of the head. For the wings I put another same size blank in and rounded it off and cupped the end. Also measured off for the width needed. Shaped the front of the wings and left a 3/16" stud to glue into a hole in the body. Parted it off and set up the drill press to drill a hole on each side of the stud and took them to the scroll saw and cut a "V" for the wings. I used halos and caps purchased at the craft store glued together with Goop glue and held them on with a small brass eye and attached a hook to hang them with. Put the finish on all done.
  3. I have been working on some angel ornaments for Christmas. Here's where I am at so far. Have some bodies and wing sets done. The finished one in the front is what they will look like.
  4. I saw some wings at Hobby Lobby, I think were meant to be part of a necklace and of course it got my mind going. Here is the result
