Might visit the Ram ProMaster van a local dealer has to see if they will make me a good trade deal.

Went and looked at the ProMaster van this morning.  Took a drive in it and knew within entering the cab I wasn't going to buy it.  Smelled of cigarette smoke.  Also would make a loud bang/rattle every time it rolled over a crack or bump in the road.  Rear door was loose and had a bend in the bottom corner.  These are things you can't find out on the web, and point out the value of a test drive for any used vehicle.   Conceptually I could live with one if it didn't smell or rattle and preferably had a rear view backup camera. Rear visibility was bad. So my search for a hardwood/plywood hauler continues.

Finished up the spreader bar for the mast and installed the Palomar Engineering center fed dipole antenna.  Used my lathe to face the ends of the round stock and bore a hole in each end for a 3/8 24 tap. Spent a couple of hours getting it tuned to length.  Initial impression is very positive.  Better RX and TX with much less noise on the floor.

I'm not quite to the point of de-atomizing and re-atomizing matter.  Best I can manage with this rig is modulation and demodulation.  I can of course transmit, "Beam me aboard, Scotty" but it won't do anything.  Give me time, I'll work on it. :)

I remember folks talking about this place. Normally I travel on Monday to drive the back roads and see the sites. This week driving up kind of late on Sunday BUT if I have an early day I am def going to look it up. I will be staying Florence this time. Thank you for the information! I appreciate it.

2 hours North of "2 weeks from anywhere" it's been a wet sloppy mess. still trying to get our new to us camper settled in place. it was so muddy that I have 8" deep ruts to fill in and level out. great spot to use up some broken concrete blocks and pavers. the downside is that next spring after things dry and settle I'll have to re-level the trailer. today we started the process of moving the deck up to our site. I'm doing this by myself so fortunately the previous owner built it to come apart into 5 sections. Isn't it great to have these first world problems? my goal is to have things ready to go so next spring I just have to open the trailer up and enjoy a beverage on the deck.

Hoping to get back into the shop early next week. it seems like I havent been in there in so long I forgot what it looks like.

The first new car I ever bought was a Fiat in 1975.  It was by far the worst car I've ever owned and traded it in less than a year later.  They soon thereafter quit selling Fiats in the USA.  I swore I'd never buy another Fiat. Ever.

Out here in Vegas, I have been gradually working on getting the shop a bit more organized and doing scrap wood projects while relearning CAD which I really haven’t played with seriously since about 1998.  Fusion 360 is actually not too bad on the learning curve and it lends itself pretty well to doing cool things with the Shaper Origin.  Here are some of the latest scrap projects…

If anyone wants the .sgv files for the SPT shelf or out-feed table hanger, let me know. Happy to share.

Thanks John and others.  What stinks is that he was a county commissioner and I’m city council president so we work together on several committees. Lost a friend and coworker.

Sorry to hear that Ron, you have my sincere condolences!

You are getting way to technical with abbreviations for us . If things don't work when I push the button then that is it.

I'm not too bright...how does this work vs a stool? Do you sit on it or do you have to cram yourself into the opening?:WonderScratch:

This is one of two.  The other one, in progress, will be the mortar board, 3 different ribbons with medals, and two honor sashes.  And yes, it's the green issue.

That school has grown a lot since you were there.  It is now the largest high school in the state.  There were almost 500 in her graduation class.  It's also where we do the stage productions twice a year.

She is now at Univ. of Cincinnati.  It has also grown, current attendance is about 50,000.

I was aware of the size, I have 2 nieces that attended Mason. I didn't realize UC (also my Alma Mater) was now that large...it was something like 35K when I went there. One thing that may (or may not) interest you is that the tassles from Mason are unchanged in design and color from mine....from 1966. The diploma is though, mine was in some kind of folding book thingy, and much smaller.

When doing PT some exercise for legs or knees require stepping up . They start you on a set of steps with a handrail. Once balance is better you use a box to step up on and I wanted my shop step stool back.
