October 27, 20232 yr Popular Post Friday again folks. Here in the land that is "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I'm waiting to see if the weather is going to improve enough that I can attempt to get several projects done. Not sure if that's going to happen, might have to pack things up for this season. With that, What's on your weekend agenda? Edited October 27, 20232 yr by Larry Buskirk
October 27, 20232 yr Popular Post Rough week, folks. A lifelong friend died Tuesday. My shop is my solace right now as I am prepping for a huge Christmas show. Does keep my mind occupied.
October 27, 20232 yr Popular Post "Weekend" just doesn't have the same alure as it did before I retired. Seems more like 7 Saturdays each week, except that the world outside has different open hours depending on the day of the week. So Saturday, and the day after (another Saturday) will be business (retirement) as usual. Should get my Ford van back today with a new parking break. Might visit the Ram ProMaster van a local dealer has to see if they will make me a good trade deal. Already deduced the ProMaster won't fit though my garage door. A bit taller than the 7' opening. A bit mixed about keeping the van in my driveway, but it would free up more of the 20' x 40' garage for shop tools/bench space/lumber storage. I have a list of projects I want to make but will need some wood/plywood to build them. The ProMaster will do the hauling that the little Ford van isn't up to. 4D
October 27, 20232 yr Popular Post To my knowledge, everyone is healthy going into the weekend! Julie is back to "normal", sis & bil are ok also. So, moving into Saturday daughter & BF are coming in for a visit. Sat. PM is the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, aka - Georgia-Florida rivalry game played in Jacksonville, FL. Sat. evening the six of us have tickets to a play. This is the play that I helped with one of the props. I "may" get a bit of shop time in today
October 27, 20232 yr Popular Post Spent some time this week refurbing/ reconditioning some recent auction treasures. Have a lot of outside work to do including some ladder work, but between the rains and high winds hasn't been doable at least for me. Hard to believe it's the last Friday in October. Right now, I should be outside, but finishing my coffee while watching the Mecum Auto Auction held earlier this month in Indy. Fun to watch and remember days past. A lot cheaper too. Tomorrow, a few errands, hopefully watch a livestream of granddaughters swim meet and maybe a football game or two. Sunday, church responsibilities then a trip to Boilertown for youngest grandson's season opening travel league basketball tourney. They're seeded 1st in their division. If you love the smell of wet leaves, LOTS of them on the ground this week between the rains and wind. Help yourself; just bring your rake, bags and truck. No limits. Fresh supplies will be arriving this weekend. Act now to guarantee your choice of variety. Special offer this weekend only. Bring a friend and get a truckload of sticks absolutely free. October 27, 20232 yr Popular Post @Ron Dudelston Condolences on the loss of your friend and prayers to his family. @Grandpadave52 raked/gathered leaves from the front yard an hour ago- never know it by looking out there now. Gonna have our first frost/freeze early next week. Have to get the bay leaf plant inside and cut off all of the basil in prep for dry. After the frost, will plant garlic for next season and see if I can find some shallot bulbs to plant.
October 27, 20232 yr Popular Post Just got back from the hospital with my hernia repaired. It was maybe the best hospital visit I've had, things went well and I won't even be in pain until later when the "nerve block" wears off. But at least it's over. Only recovery stipulation is to not lift anything over 10#. I may try to stretch that into other things I can't do.

Remember nothing over a gallon container in liquids ...which means you have to buy 8 pints of your favorite beverages
October 27, 20232 yr Popular Post Local dealer is having a Festool Demo Day. Might go just to drool. If the weather cooperates, I am going to pull some honey off the beehive.

Take it easy for a few days it ain’t pretty if you have to go back from not doing what you’re supposed to.

October 28, 20232 yr Popular Post As a certified dog lover, I think that puppy is just too cute! Congrats to your wife, and little doubt you will love it just as much. Don't forget to get an electrical cords away from where they can be chewed.
