The Patriot Woodworker Newsletter (December 2022) - Description

MWTCA What's It

Our MWTCA What's It project has been unreliable in its appearance and it may seem like it has dropped by the wayside, I'd like to apologize for this. Beginning in the New Year we are going to get the project up and running smoothly again, and reliable as far as monthly topics go. Thank you for hanging in there MWTCA What's It fans!

To all, have a wonderful week ahead and be safe in all you do!

Sunday, except for a bit of trim, we finished up a new set of steps for our front entry. Redwood, 48"X48" landing with two steps. Matches the back entry that we made last year. Our son, the J.O.A.T., will fabricate a steel railing and bannister.  The final wood trim pieces are to be made and installed, today.  But, it's  still dark and it's raining cats and dogs...I stepped in a poodle on the way to the shop.;)

If the weather clears a bit and that trim can get done, I can finally devote some time to the shop tasks.

BTW, those mesquite topped Limbert tables were picked up and, are now out of my hair.:TwoThumbsUp:the recipients were pleased. Sometime in the not too distant future,  we'll make a few more. This time with hairpin legs!

In the meantime,  I need to get some time getting intimately familiar with that poor neglected scroll saw.

Thanks John for the Weekly thread topic. Appreciate the return to a Newsletter too. Looks great. And WOW, how cool and generous of @lew and his wife being special ambassadors to our Ward 57 recipients this year. A double blessing for everyone.

No significant accomplishments over the weekend but quite busy and rewarding. Grandsons stayed over Friday night and most all day Saturday. Sunday we held our Church Christmas play/program. We're far from professionals and a smallish congregation but the play turned out very well. That followed with our annual Christmas meal. Both were well attended. From there, Quick trip home, change of clothes, then off to youngest grandson's travel league basketball games. In two games his team put up 92 points. Not bad for eight, 3rd/4th graders, two 16 minutes halves with a running clock.

Busy week ahead. Oldest grandson wraps up his 6th grade basketball season with road games tonight and tomorrow. Granddaughters will both be home by end of the week for their Christmas breaks. Online auction I've bid on a few items. If successful, PU is Thursday. Several errands along with an ever growing honey-do list as Christmas approaches.

Monday

Guess there's got to be one every week. <_<

If the weather cooperates I hope to get the last DTC cleared on Bruce's 05 Express. 45 down 1 to go! ;)

Just in case I can't find the bad connection in that Instrument Cluster, we did pick up another.

Forgot to mention we went to get the key unstuck from the ignition on the (Butt Ugly) 2018 Ram ProMaster Saturday morning.

We took a spare battery with so we could fool it into thinking it was in park, looks like it's going to need a bit more than body work. <_<

The top transmission mount is broken out of the case, which tore the shift cable loose.

We did find out that it only has 33K miles on it. :(

Bruce said with that milage he'd rather not put in a "Boneyard" transmission.

He about fell over when I informed him a new replacement is listed at just shy of $4200.00.

I'm going to stop by the local dealer today to see how much with my retiree discount. I'm also going to check if just the case is available.

Working the J.O.B this week.  688 days to retirement.  Ordered parts to add 4th monitor to my work PC.  This will let me get through my day a little easier with less frequent switching between apps.

:ChinScratch:And I thought I was being pretty slick when I added the second monitor to the :OldManSmiley: Dell D430 laptop I use for auto diagnostics so I could read the factory service manual on the added monitor while using the software without having to switch back and forth between them.

These :OldManSmiley: :BugEyeSmiley: have a hard enough time viewing the 12" screens, and trying to split view a single screen made it even worse. <_<

@forty_caliber

I loved this one!

Upper right monitor display might have a virus on it:rolleyes: Better be careful navigating there and whatever you do, don't pull any ropes.;)

Sad to say Dave, but it's been that way for quite a few years now.

Stellantis is closing the Belvedere Ill assembly plant in February ending Jeep Cherokee production there and sending it south of the border.

They may as well, they sent the engine production there when they closed Kenosha.

:ChinScratch: I'm not so sure I want anything newer than what I've got, I'm barely smart enough to figure them out.

When I started at the plant in 79 you could get a very well equipped Gremlin for under $3K.

Make my Tri-5 a Nomad please! :D

389 Tri-Power 4 speed?

Built quite a few of those 4.0L motors.

Granny gear 4 speed to go with that 300?

Freind has 2 64 Galaxies. The Convertable's restored original with a 390. The Hard Top's not stock has a 302 Boss Stang motor.

Trimmed up, trimmed out, coat of Minwax "Gunstock" stain brushed on, and wiped down....dunnage has been glued down inside, to keep the Ward's No.78 in place....still needs a coat of varnish..maybe later, today?

Sir Oliver has decided to take a nap...right where my feet sit under the Computer Desk.....and..he snores...
