We made it to another Friday folks!

Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" it looks like it will be a hibernate weekend. :(

We're not forecast to be above freezing until Monday. <_<

So, while I wait for the thaw,

  • After a few weeks visit my son has gone back home to Alabama.   One less car in driveway, one more toolbox in my shop.  Was a good visit but will be awhile before his next visit.  Off to sea starting

Playing “catch up” in the shop.  We had a record breaking show last Saturday and my stock for my online store is depleted.  Not a bad problem to have, I suppose.

  • Getting ready for a show in two weeks . Got Snowmen, Biscuit cutters, Mario Mushrooms and Bell Ornaments turned and in stages of finish. Woodturners meeting tomorrow.

Preparing for resin pours on three more mesquite table tops.  Two raw ones and a final pour on the first one. I think, I'll just do one per day. It's a somewhat messy and tedious job.

Got the header over the garage door done a couple days ago... next project in the garage is a new door.

Today headed north.  Going with Mrs. to Macon (20 miles :D).  She has Dr. appt., I will get a hair cut, then we'll meet back up and check out BORG and Big Blue for garage doors.  Some place for lunch and then it will be a tug of war between my wanting to go home and Mrs. wanting to stop a a Goodwill or three.  I don't mind going to the GW, but I can go through pretty quick - the Mrs. not so much.

Saturday is game day.  Gonna be pretty darned cold in Kentucky at kick off time.  This will be the Dawgs first game this year in the cold.  We'll see how that goes.

Not really sure.  Lots of things I could do.  I could also be perfectly happy as a couch potato :)

I've got a pecan bowl on the lathe just about ready to sand and finish.  I'm not terribly with the outside profile.  I've got bowl blanks to cut too.

My new turning buddy Shawn texted me with a lathe issue last night.  He depends on his lathe for part of his livelihood.  It's a 16" Laguna.  Spindle turns by hand but when he powers it on, it makes a clicking noise and doesn't run.  Any thoughts on that topic?  Maybe we can help Shawn out.  Both Shawn and his son are Army vets.

Couch potato is high on my list this weekend. Weather is too sucky to be outdoors, and I'm holding off on turning the heat up in the shop. I do need to install a floor electrical outlet in our family room, maybe I'll do that.

Working on Christmas gifts is priority.  Turning some bowls right now.  Don't like doing bowls because of the mess they make.  Grinning and bearing it.

If it's the electronic variable speed controlled lathe, my guess would be the controller.

Out early for me anyway today. Cold, nasty and county roads were darn slick.

Nothing like the smell of chlorine in the morning🤢. Today through Sunday evening I'll be here most of the time

Local D3 college is hosting a swim invitational. 10 teams total from as far away as Alabama. Youngest granddaughters university is competing. Great opportunity to watch her swim and only 20 minutes from home. Almost a home pool for her as she has swam in big events here several times from Middle School through High School.

She was in 1st heat to start today's session. Beat her personal best for 500 freestyle by almost 12 seconds. 3rd in her heat but lost to 2 teammates. All dropped times. Unfortunately none qualified for tonight's finals.

Granddaughter still has her leg of 400 medley relay this AM.

Tomorrow after evening finals event, our family headed up by daughter is feeding granddaughters team, men/women, coaches and a few other parents. Thankful my daughter has full use of our local Boys & Girls Club. Taco bar, midwest chili, salad & fruit bar. Sadly no donuts I've been informed.

First step is to blow out the motor, switches and all electronics with compressed air.  Reduce PSI for this.

50 years ago today...I got married.....and the weather back then was almost as bad as it is outside the door, right now.:BlackCloud:

Yesterday was a "Me Day"   as 50 years ago on the 17th was my last day of being Single.:DevilLaughing:

A Full Dry Fit was attempted the other day...did NOT go well....upper shelf was about an 1" too small.....re-do on that, and re-glue the one side that had split. :ArguingSmileys:  As for the Road Trip?:ChinScratch:

Compared to the other tools I saw..this was cheap @ $45 and change....some of the planes I looked at must have been priced by their weight in Gold...:JawDrop:

craft show tomorrow, this is one of four till Christmas, loaded some odds and ends in van, and put some handwarmers in, i find on really cold days, my old worn out hands need some assistance to ease the aches, set up by 730 am, and weather the chill till mid am. be glad to see some friends and perhaps meet a few new ones,

and maybe sell a thing or two.

and did deliver 45 turkeys today to a few local venues for the holiday, a couple friends are ex grocery mgrs. and well lets say i get the deal of a life time on a lot of things around the holidays, last year i had a truck load of taters to deliver, i hit the small venues that generally don't get a lot of donate traffic, sure is some nice folks.
