Had some HS students at the furniture bank this morning.  We knocked out 34 tables in 3 hours.  I also repaired a couple of pieces.

Ran out this afternoon to get a plant for the front garden and got it planted.  In the process, I dug up some daffodil bulbs and ended up replanting them and a few others that were leftover.

Y'all take this "curb shopping" mighty serious up there...

I haven't gone with yet this time around, trying to get caught up to what I didn't get done while helping Bruce, but Bruce told me he got an older Delta lathe with a bunch of tooling, and a Craftsman 6" bench belt sander at one pile. He said the "Old Timer" was downsizing, and hadn't used the machines for quite some time.

I ran to grocery store on Saturday, and then stopped at Quick Trip. When I came out had to get the Pilot jumped. Charged battery when I got home came up to 12 volts but marginal on load test. Negative post on battery has reduced in size.  Charging system checks out. Now trying to figure out why it's cooking the ends off of the original negative battery cables. :WonderScratch:

Waiting for cables from Rock Auto, got all 3 (Positive, Negative, Engine to body ground) for less than AutoZone, or O'reillys wanted for just the positive cable. (Same brand and part number)

Looked at prices for a new battery. :JawDrop:

:ChinScratch:Guess I haven't bought a battery in awhile. :Tapping:

Have the 800 Amp battery from the Jeep on charger now. It's a 7 year battery that's 4-5 years old now. Of course the terminals are on the opposite side, but if I leave out the plastic battery surround not a problem. I paid $89.00, same battery today, $189.00.

The neg. is supposed to be smaller, like oxy-acetylene hoses. Left and right.  I looked it up. Can't remember everything anymore. :OldManSmiley: Then again, sutor, ne ultra crepidam is NOT my motto.

I just put 6  six volt batteries in the golf cart ,found best price at sams club, still over 600 bucks for all, with exchange,

my bass boat is ready for batteries, ugh, it has three deep cycle units, batteries here in the desert last a few years and thats about it, heat just kills'm,  had good luck with autozone batteries, but last few i've purchased was a have to situation and either wally world or sams club. as they were closer and easier.

my diesel crew cab goes thru a pair about every three years. . hate to think if i had an electric car or truck what the battery replacement would be, ugh.

today is clean up the shop day, gotta re organize some stuff, i keep adding material and misc. and running outta room. patio is packed, so, time to cull some stuff out. i really want to get started on the wine stave project, but need to build some drawers for the new to me router table set up, ,sorting thru some plastic bins for router bits tends to make me testy, so gonna make some drawers to hopefully get it set up.

went to new sale venue yesterday and watched them set up and chatted it up with a few vendors, they bascially want you to do every sunday, as i mentioned to the gal running the joint, i'm not looking for a new job, as i just retired from one, she said she could alternate me with a few others who didn't wanna do every sunday, so we' will see, ole gal seems to think we oughta give it a go, i'm a gonna have to think about it, great location and a whole lotta traffic.

okay enough of the update, suns up in a bit might head out and put the charger on the van and see if it will start, been a few months since i fired it up, lol, i'm lazy sometimes,

Not yet retired but busier that I've ever been. Have always 'made things' but began serious crafting Feb 2021 during a room renovation.

Just finished planing this down. The cut-offs of another project, joined with other cut-offs, then cut off again, saved, and reborn a 3rd time . . . 6 strips per slat, four slats ... it'll be a knockout in a couple of days.

Went to just look at a vehicle for the Mrs. Friday evening as the Buick saga drags on. It (Buick) was originally intended to be a temporary for her eventually becoming my daily driver. Her '05 Jeep Grand Cherokee (bought off lease in '08) is worn out. She needed something safe and dependable to drive.

Anyways, she now owns a new to her '12 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. She's 2nd owner. Never guessed they would accept my offer. They even "stayed open longer" to accommodate us:rolleyes:. It's her 4th GC  (3rd from this dealership) however her first that's not red. Still trying to figure everything out. So far, so good. We'll see. Not sure Grandma needs a Hemi though:ChinScratch: She seems to think she does;)

Not sure what the last part means :WonderScratch: but not as small as this one's became. The clamp wouldn't tighten down on that battery, but did on the one I ended up pulling out of the Dodge truck. (Still have to get around to replacing that steering box) Battery from Jeep wouldn't take a full charge.

:ChinScratch: Now that I think about it one of the boneyards I frequent sells some pretty good looking used batteries for $20-25.00 with a 30 day guarantee. Might just take the voltage/load test meter up and check out a few tomorrow. ;)

walmart has a 69 dollar battery will give you a year, bought one for a gal a while back, who didn't have a way to get her car moving, long story, but she deserved a break from someone,

they warranty it for a year, not bad for a cheapy.

I have a large maple tree in my front yard that was in need of some serious pruning. Got out today and accomplished that. Now comes the work of cutting up the branches and running the smaller stuff thru the chipper. Took this old pfart about 5 hrs to prune what could have been done in 2 hrs 20 years ago. Lots of rest periods.

Well, I try not to talk about stuff I know nothing about. It's Latin, back when phrases were the hot thing. Before the internet. Before radio, 'lectricity, central heat, etc.

I've seen terminals do that. My first thought was that voltage was was flowing through the car. Like an errant ground. If your vehicle was parked near a power pole or a ground wire or something off.

I once found a loose ground. If you touched a masonry building with a sweaty hand in just the right place, you got SHOCKED big time.

I'll never buy another battery at wally world. Went through five of them before they'd give us our money back. Not sure if it was just a bad batch, but they had half a skid of returned ones all the same group number.
