June 24, 20224 yr Popular Post Friday again folks. Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I think I'm going to try taking it easy after getting the zero turn working again mowing the two acres next door yesterday morning, and finishing up the headliner install on the Pilot yesterday afternoon with several visits from @steven newman's favorite Uncle Charles thrown in for good measure. Kind of feel like I'm hung over this morning without having drank any alcohol. So we'll see how that works out. Oh Yeah, "What's on Your Weekend Agenda"? Edited June 24, 20224 yr by Larry Buskirk
June 24, 20224 yr Popular Post Finishing up the June honey harvest. Pulled a box from each of 2 hives and got about 5 gal of honey. Currently draining and melting the wax cappings. Tomorrow to the theater set shop and breaking down and storing parts.
June 24, 20224 yr Popular Post Got all five of the 20' extension cords assembled. Much better use of a 100' cord. First use of the new Kreg 720 pro was to build a floor stand for the Shopsmith 6×48 belt sander. Now, to continue the seemingly never ending shop organizing. Hopefully, I can get my rampant ADD under control enough to get the scroll saw stand assembled, this weekend. AFAIK now, Phyl has nothing scheduled to interfere. She's busy assembling blocks for her next quilt. If she stays at it, the next few days may be ones of free shop time. Time will tell.
June 24, 20224 yr Popular Post Just got back from our anniversary trip to the shore. Laundry detail and mail catchup. The bad storms missed us so no yard cleanup.
June 24, 20224 yr Popular Post Well..I am moving around on my own, without any help from Uncle SIR Charles...haven't been informed as to any of the Boss' Schedules...may wait until this evening to plane some more Maple.....we'll see..
June 24, 20224 yr Popular Post Youth baseball season ended this week for grandsons. Both lost in R1 of tourney but both teams played their best ball of the year.. Actually got a couple long lingering clean-up & removal projects completed this week. Today's focus will re-mowing. Got the smaller front mount mower going yesterday then made first passes of outside fence rows and upper roadsides. Way past due. Other equipment + vehicle maintenance in store then try to figure out what is not correct on granddaughter's car A/C. New compressor, receiver/drier, orifice tube, low pressure switch, ambient air temp sensor....clutch cycles on/off; high side pressure about normal; low side extremely high; almost like overcharged, but it is not. What ever all y'all are doing, stay safe, hydrated and rested. I for one am thankful for these shorter daylight hours since that really long day Tuesday. Those long days were brutal

June 24, 20224 yr Popular Post Maybe, you guys with cramps could benefit from some bananas and/or papaya.
June 24, 20224 yr Popular Post @steven newman@Larry Buskirk My son swears by pickle juice but I just can't bring myself to try. Temps at 100 today and tomorrow so maybe shop time to work on finishing the 10 or 12 bowls sitting there.
June 24, 20224 yr Popular Post i once had a 100 foot extension cord....little mishap and i had a 60 footer and a 40 footer! without properly terminated ends....oops. got some touch up painting and some stucco repair done this AM, trying to beat the rain this weekend. Edited June 24, 20224 yr by DAB

June 24, 20224 yr Author Been doing both, bananas and pickle juice. Begining to think I might have gotten a slight case of sun/heat stroke. Not only cramps but still feeling kind of disoriented, been going on since I was out in full sun at the boneyard Wednesday morning. Probably didn't help mowing about two acres Thursday morning. I've drank so much water I can feel it slosh around.
June 24, 20224 yr Popular Post A 2 day bug has gotten to me, I hope it clears tomorrow, either way I'm going to miss the Green River Music Festival. And as any Red Sox fan would say, 'There's always next year'!
June 25, 20224 yr Author Popular Post Took a couple, three days but, I'm beginning to feel like my Abby-Normal self.

June 25, 20224 yr Popular Post Front hedges need trimmed....but....every dang time I do...I wind up fighting Poison Sumac/Ivy....almost need a HazMat Suit.....NOT in this weather.... Boss has a skin infection on her shin....Miss Stubborn was dragged over to the Urgent Care place this morning, to FINALLY get it checked out....Waiting on Walgreens now for the Rx....told her to either get it checked out, TODAY...or loose a foot later.....she wasn't too happy about it, but we went anyway... May remove some clamps, this evening.....clean the lid up, and see about hinges...always a fun time, trying to install a lid....might take the entire weekend to get done...Then next week to prep things for a stain and finish....

One time had to get 6 stitches in my chin after treatment. Good thing I was still at the Dr. Office...no waiting or appointment needed. Long story. 4 minutes ago, steven newman said: Boss has a skin infection on her shin....Miss Stubborn was dragged over to the Urgent Care place this morning, to FINALLY get it checked out....Waiting on Walgreens now for the Rx....told her to either get it checked out, TODAY...or loose a foot later.....she wasn't too happy about it, but we went anyway...
