May 28, 20224 yr Popular Post Spending Sunday with 250,000 of my closest friends. Indy 500. Also my 52nd anniversary. I married a saint that would let me go to the race on our anniversary.

May 29, 20224 yr Doors look great DAB. Outta keep the tarantulas and scorpions out where they belong.
May 29, 20224 yr Popular Post Happy 52nd @Ron Dudelston to you and Dorothy. Congratulations on a great milestone especially in this day and age. I'll watch for you tomorrow at the race. Wave at me. Assume you'll be in the "snake pit?"
May 29, 20224 yr Popular Post Wedding went off yesterday without any problems. A light rain started about the time vows were complete but canopy of the trees blocked most of it. Reception went equally well. Pulled pork, pasta salad, arugula salad, cherry, apple and strawberry pie. Sweet tea, unsweetened tea, lemonade or bottled water were beverages of choice. Just immediate family and a few close friends. Today, decided it was safe to summerize the snowblower. Ran remaining gas out, while hot, changed oil, preserved cylinder, fuel tank, carb with Stabil Fogging Oil, lubed linkages etc with silicone spray, wiped down sheet metal, spray waxed, replaced skid shoes I bought 4 years ago and just refound today, then moved back to its hiding place hopefully for several years. All that was in between cleaning & filling all bird feeders, airing up various balls, bike tires, adjusting bike seats, lubing bike chains, getting the gas grill out and ready plus other tasks grandma & 3 grandkids could devise today along with a few small round 2 its. Back & knees gave out about an hour ago. Edited May 29, 20224 yr by Grandpadave52
May 29, 20224 yr Popular Post Sounds like everyone is having a busy weekend. Amongst an ever increasing honey do list related to “getting ready for summer”, I was able to get out in the shop and spend a little time working on the patio furniture. Sides are put together, seat and back are put together and slats for seat and back are cut. Tomorrow I need to mortice the seat / back assembly and drill the drawbore for the slats. Gotta make some dowels and get the tenons done on the slats once the mortices are complete. After everything is fitted, it will be off the the router table / sander to profile everything, and then a lot of sanding. Then some more sanding. Then I will be able to glue and pin the slats to complete the seat/back assembly and mount the sides. Then it will be time to poly the daylights out of everything and put the little plastic feet pads on it. I am probably forgetting something essential but I will figure it out when I get there
May 29, 20224 yr Popular Post Car is packed. Hope we haven't forgotten anything. As soon as Sol makes an appearance, we'll hit the road. Hope to make Santa Rosa, NM, today. Then, somewhere in eastern OK Monday night. Probably roll in to Neoga, IL sometime Tuesday afternoon. Hope to be back home by 6/10.
