Every night is Saturday night and  every day is Sunday.  The only way I can tell what day it is is by checking my week's pill container.

Got my vote. Gonna' be one fine looking chest when done and finished.

Could have used your organization the other day. :TwoThumbsUp:After realizing I had reduced a key shelf component into utility strips. :BangingHead:  A component carefully cut on the scroll, sanded, beveled, scraped . . .

Those Harbor Freight F style clamps come with their own rubber pads....though they tend to fall off sometimes.  You can even buy a bag of replacement pads for them at Harbor Freight.

Steve have you ever tried using some hot glue to hold the pads in place? I have some smaller Jorgensen's and the the pads come off them as well.

Steve your panels all float in the glue ups?? I'm having trouble following how and where those dovetails come together. Could you please help me understand this procedure? Thanks Pat

All the panels will "float" in grooves..:OldManSmiley:..maybe a single small nail to keep them from sliding left or right...:ChinScratch:

Once the collar has been dry fitted to the dovetails, then I plough a groove to house the lids raised panel, all around the inside of the collar...where it will line up with the top "Tail" on the ends....it will hide the groove.   :OldManSmiley:

First..I need to cut them tails, and get them fitted in place...:ChinScratch:..need the collar dry fitted together, so I can trim the glued up panel to final size.:ChinScratch:..THEN make it into a Raised panel, like the panels in the sides of the box....

Boss willing, and a "Work Shirt"  to replace the "Sunday go to Meeting" shirt.....I might get a little bit done, today:WonderScratch:

Stay tuned..:cowboy:

I tossed those rubber pads in a drawer and hot glued leather on all my F style. Yes they do come off occasionally but just glue them back on.

Preset the clamps...B)

1396080810_Panelworkclamppresetmeasurements.JPG.2957c304e72cd07fc68cc8f0e52b583d.JPG

Are for the saw guide, set to the width between the blade and the edge of the saw's foot..:ChinScratch:

555837857_Panelworkguidefence.JPG.cefc7a790a2ac9c6ec632369943cad8e.JPG

Like this...then run the saw through, pushing the saw forward and against the fence..:OldManSmiley:

532514557_Panelworkcutmade.JPG.19f363fe5d584c0be9e50d7804957447.JPG

Then, rotate the panel to the other end....this time set for 35" total length of the panel...Now, one of the edges was jointed before the panel was glued up...the other edge has a taper to it ( 17-1/8' to 16-7/8")  so, I am using the jointed edge as a reference...Layout, clamp guide, make the cut...panel is now set for length..B)

694400153_Panelworkscraps.JPG.7dfd533db6bcbd84d64db2cc5b879aaa.JPG

610076866_Panelworklayoutwidth.JPG.64791c369b4470d3231ea70ed6191794.JPG

Mark the far end at 16" width...clamp the straightedge down there....come up to this end, do the same thing...double check both places...then draw a line along the straightedge....look through the scrap pile for one STRAIGHT board that was also long enough..and clamp it in place..:OldManSmiley:

367380564_Panelworkrippedforwidth.JPG.c036f7b7e9f8cdfee0d94bc91ae1b1cb.JPG

However, the marks this is clamped to, allow for the circular saw's footprint....turns out, I also need to joint this edge..:MachineGun:
