Late to party today. Cat had laser therapy at the vet this AM. Probably 2-1/2" of wet snow at home when we left for town. Most gone by the time we returned. Ran a few errands while out. Gunsmoke, Laramie, Wagon Train and Rawhide on the agenda for Saturday since we'll only see mid 20's if lucky. Church Sunday. Our Sunday to make biscuits and gravy.

 

A year ago today I paid a total stranger to stab me in the back to stop the excruciating, stabbing back pains.It took a good while for those pains to diminish but then compared to now it could be worse.. I finally got a good night sleep that night but I had IV bags of really good stuff. Hope that episode never makes it to re-runs. Edit add: did I mention I had some really good stuff in IV bags?

280 mile road trip yesterday. Lynn had to get something from a friend's store, which is closing soon, and it was a nice day, soooo. Took the back roads to the Bay of Quinte, caught the ferry at Glenorra. (Our first time on an ice-breaker! Never used it in winter before) On the way back, we waited 45 minutes before we were told that something on the ferry had broken down, and it would take an hour "OR SO" to fix.  Knowing that "OR SO" could mean a day or two, we took the long way around, which probably accounted for 100 of those miles.

I've seen pics and videos of the "big" ice breakers in action. Cool to watch in action but not a vessel I'd want to be on. In a former life, supplied products for those.

After 2 weeks of some plastering and repainting a bedroom, I can finally start putting it back together. Not putting a bed in the room though. I put a small couch and a wall mount TV in the room. Just a room for when I get in trouble I'll have a place to go inside instead of being put outside in my dog house. It's still pretty cold outside.

Please don't contact my wife and tell her I told you about this or I'll really be in trouble!!

My weekend is going back to Nashville to watch daughter play softball. Snow started to fall during second game. Roads were good till we got to hotel. Saturday going to hang out with my daughter and wife. Sunday more softball and wife’s birthday. 
 

On the woodworking side have a caterer who wants me to do a charcuterie board for her. When we were talking and I asked her about what wood she wanted she said either Olive or Acacia, but really wanted Olive. So in my ‘down’ time I am going to see if I can find any. Definitely in short supply.

Looks like this is the weekend I've been "waiting for" to stay inside and do inside stuff.  Cold and windy today, just plain cold tomorrow.  Plan to finish up our taxes and work on getting my vinyl stencils done up for the third window sash.  If I do get all of that done I have a set of drawers to make for that headboard I started.

I just scored 8 E39 Mogul Base lamps w/drops, 4 green porcelain, 4 white. I had prefect timing, SWMBO has a headache and is napping so I was able to spirit everything into the basement.

Good luck on the games. Snow in Nashville is never good...at least 50 years ago. I-40 & I-65 became demolition derbies. Guessing hasn't changed much. Be safe.

Rain and sleet in Oklahoma on I-40 one year, 2015?, day after Christmas. I was the only one with hat scarf gloves at the filling station.

Not much shop time this weekend.  Babysitting grand-kids Thurs through Friday evening, run out for a while Friday PM to play bridge, woodworking club meeting Saturday AM, church spaghetti dinner I'm helping set up Saturday PM, lose an hour overnight, beekeeper's club meeting Sunday afternoon.

Finally got a set of bi-fold doors mounted on a new closet in our bedroom. I forgot to allow for the unleveled floor and had to take some of it apart. I hope to finish this much procrastinated project tomorrow.
