:ChinScratch: Friday again.

Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" we're getting ready to have our systems screwed up again at 2:00 AM Sunday with the time changeover. <_<

:ChinScratch: Lets see now move the clock ahead one hour so it stays dark for an extra hour in the morning therefore extending daylight one hour into the evening, and call it "Daylight Savings Time".  Doesn't work well for morning people. :Tapping:

So while we get our systems screwed up, <_<

"What's on Your Weekend Agenda"?

A friend asked me to re-create an AK upper hand guard. The other furniture is Tiger/Quilted maple. Have to track down a thick enough piece.

Finishing up the piece of Manzanita.

Looks like snow for Saturday.  Have to go down stairs to the shop since it will be too cold and wet to play outside.

Snow, I hear. I'll begin another box with double-rabbetted corners, the base in a dado. And am thinking of pegging the corners as well, using my 1:30 taper violin peg hole reamer and used ebony violin pegs.

Well, I may just lay out the cuts on the bench. Then drink pop, eat potato chips, lay on the couch watching DVDs.

Finished a new Whistling Top Video to follow if I can convert from IMOV to MP4. Today clean a little in shop to prep for Woodworkers meeting there tomorrow on planes.

Have several small projects going in various stages. Nothing completed just yet.  Been kinda drained from travel, new job and stress over family and friends in Ukraine.

@Gerald Try this- save the video with a different name. Change the extension name from .mov to .mp4. See if the mp4 version plays. If this doesn't work, you still have the original video. There used to be free programs but I couldn't find one right now.

BIL & SIL left Thursday. They've had a few mishaps along the way. He clipped a gas pump protector and did some damage to the trailer. Then, a wheel came off the trailer. Seems that the guy who changed it in St. Louis, on the way out here, failed to properly torque the lug nuts. Now, they're fighting a snowstorm in OK. In their last report, they were averaging 25MPH and, 12° awaits them at home.

Meanwhile, back in the desert, it's 68° and promises to be 78° tomorrow. Phyl's planting flowers and I'm piddling in the shop. Working on some additional safety feature for the Lichtenberg burner. Tomorrow, is storage boxes. Using up some plywood scraps.

Tell them to toss yhpruM out of the trailer before it gets any worse!

280 mile road trip yesterday. Lynn had to get something from a friend's store, which is closing soon, and it was a nice day, soooo. Took the back roads to the Bay of Quinte, caught the ferry at Glenorra. (Our first time on an ice-breaker! Never used it in winter before) On the way back, we waited 45 minutes before we were told that something on the ferry had broken down, and it would take an hour "OR SO" to fix.  Knowing that "OR SO" could mean a day or two, we took the long way around, which probably accounted for 100 of those miles.

Waiting for ferry on the return trip. OK, so it wasn't really an ice-breaker, but we DID have to push through THIS stuff!

A funny feeling, with ice chunks grinding against the hull and pushing the boat from side to side, but at least there were no other boats in the water. In the past, we've had to wait tor Great Lakes freighters to get out of the way!

Had to restack my lumber behind the shop. A couple of the stacks fell over onto other wood and everything was a mess. Took it all out from the cover and the put it alll back before it starts raining and then turn to snow tonight.

Also got my barn door on my shop office framed out.

Got a party to attend tonight. I’ll have to eat cookies and snacks!
