Somewhere about there....feeling for any flat spots...want a nice smooth curve...one edge done, flip around and repeat, until the ends are all curvy..1508539876_TheSellersBox2curvyends.JPG.38d08a26a8d14df63825ae62d71fd77c.JPG

Then repeat for the 2 long sides..:Cheer:

Had to also bring out the WR 62....seems there was a knot to plane over...Dry fit...lid needed a fine tuning.....1237769366_TheSellersBox2dryfitting.JPG.eaf7260ea432ef8f2483a77bd1bd2c1d.JPG

Gaps will close up when clamped...

Where the pins/tails stood proud, they were sawn flush....then th whole mess was sanded smooth..

It appears that I should submit myself for an apprenticeship. Also the cleanup would be left to me, the apprentice.

Taking the day off from the shop, today.....too many errands to run, too much walking around for this bum right leg....add in a CAT Scan on the head...will rest up the rest of today...and see how tomorrow turns out.

Good, I need the break.  While you're goofing off tell me what these might be. And if I am missing a handle for them.

The pile on the right are "body" files/rasps for chugging down bondo (or in the really old days, lead) filler. Yes they are missing the handle...it'll take me a minute to find a pic, but Snap-on, Mac, Matco and others all sold those.

EDIT add:

image.png.ee69211d850772ff7031c082eeea6abd.png

Missing handles on the left too, but appear to be wood rasps. Ferrier rasps usually would not be 1/2 round.

Was sitting here, resting up......dialed up Sellers' Episode #3  ( mistake #1)  to see what tasks he had in store....Figured I could try the roundovers...(mistake #2) and then he did the glue up.....hmmm...have to let the glue sit overnight, anyway...so, out came the glue, a brush and a forest of clamps.

Sellers used just 4 clamps.....I had a forest  of clamps...we'll let this mess sit overnight...and maybe see about the other 2 tasks in that video....

Knee did NOT like the stairs, in either direction...back to sitting around.   One of these days, I am gonna learn....

Ok...pictures or it didn't happen...so..glue up happened last night, did it?:ChinScratch:

185551037_Episode3theglueup.JPG.8f76dd2545904279d1892d159671f739.JPG

Box is in there..somewhere...I think..:WonderScratch:

So, just after Lunch, the forest of clamps was sent away, leaving..

1791949572_Episode3beforethecleanup.JPG.699ba1db3d94ea4bd8d772e399e59ad7.JPG

Has a few spots to clean up....planes, sanders...which took a while.:Tapping:

1575390501_Episode3duringthecleanup.JPG.f2dd924ea4bf62a339af9e1510957275.JPG

Still had a corner to work on...holes to fill, things like that..

Next task?  A case of connect the dots..:OldManSmiley:

1109362950_Episode3connectthedots.JPG.9ad31f016736b1c1c51c07bee7146da9.JPG

That is 2 lines, and they go all the way around the box...then the real "Fun" can begin...:OldManSmiley:

609419741_Episode3oneendcut.JPG.0a87848a3a7606494e32b65e0d0ed982.JPG

All 4 corners first...then connect at the ends of the box.   Then..:ChinScratch:

1754651796_Episode3almostdone.JPG.a8151f3a498749d6ac55649e3b7610f6.JPG

Connect the end cuts...which leaves this...

1558366068_Episode3.separation.JPG.30837c29cb55654b381b7f9e263d49b8.JPG

Then a Millers Falls No. 9 smooth plane can do a bit more work..:SaluteandRun:

713422075_Episode3levelingthecuts.JPG.481ae158a55db489d1b6614df74ed07f.JPG

Leveling the sides, taking out any high spots...and, checking as I went along:ChinScratch:

180441551_Episode3checkingforhighspots.JPG.49f8d321a37ef9662166f6f7a2cde08d.JPG

Just a small spot at the left corner....Grain is supposed to line up.B)

Stopped at 1300 hours, today...leg was having issues, again....and, for some reason..I even worked up a sweat :JawDrop:Figured that was quite enough for a Friday.   Will have to watch Episode #4, and see what Paul wants to do next.:ChinScratch:

Stay tuned..:cowboy:

Episode #4 has been watched.....

Divider installed after the stopped dados are opened up..already done..

Hinges installed....have to go and buy some hinges, this morning...

Feet made and installed...and

Carve a Finger Lift notch in the front of the box....we'll see.

And there he stopped....was waiting on the glued up/on feet to dry....

Waiting for the Fliver to warm up...it being just 1 above zero outside.   Might get to the shop after Lunch?  Too bloody COLD outside for me nose, 6 weeks til Spring?   Can hardly wait....

Ok..Dado has already been cleaned out...

1415268879_Episode4dadoopened.JPG.43c7c1cb2e5fc367c40568b42c215742.JPG

Yes, a little loose, by design, as the divider is meant to be removable..:OldManSmiley:

1951473669_Episode4dadofittedhinges.JPG.654c93681c2787d7f0ce1bfbeea17b2a.JPG

And, discovered I did not have the right hinges in my spares box...so..:SaluteandRun:

1633127510_Episode4hingesattheready.JPG.849e1166ad3645357ce51fe5cc568c73.JPG

I came home with these, from Lowes.   Along with a can..

1766366934_Episode4NOTpoly.JPG.977cb1bed77c8c9bb83189adf680eabe.JPG

As I am going to give this a try.  :ChinScratch:

Had some high spots to level out..before the hinges can go on....had one last spot to plane..lid flipped over, and onto the floor..with predictable results.:ArguingSmileys:

More glue, couple of clamps with an assist from the bench vise...even had to square it back up...:ArguingSmileys:

1449497660_Episode4repairthelid.JPG.04ada1be1a893ffb724d1893b4b05f8b.JPG

So, now it sits on the bench, waiting on the glue to dry...took out my frustrations on those two chisels..:MachineGun:

1552470344_Episode4chiselssharpenedup.JPG.9f69fe8ac6f027febedfefaa3395972e.JPG

They are now very sharp....ready to make some hinge mortises,,,,when the lid is ready...I also dug out the Cordless Pilot Hole Drill...:OldManSmiley:

1879232206_Episode4Pilotholedrill.JPG.87ed382d0c96da3df320715f11caed6d.JPG

Hmmm, brass screws..into Red Oak..what could go wrong.....with my luck?:DevilLaughing:

Yeah....add a little candle wax to the screws.

May save the last task of Episode #4 for tomorrow....Paul makes wooden feet...and glues them to the bottom of the box.....Letting the Single Brain Cell Sketch Up look into something else...will see....after a "Finger Lift" is carved into the front of the box...with just a regular chisel?:BugEyeSmiley:

Stay tuned...:cowboy:

Sorry about the mishap. Sounds like you have the "curse of Dave" lurking in the dungeon. Set a trap...bait it with a chocolate donut...gets it every time.
