  • I don't know about Artie but anytime someone mentioned "DC" work it meant "ditches & concrete". The test for the shovel would be labors or operators & you'll need a CDL for the wheelbarrow.

  • Water heater started leaking Saturday, so plumber spent a lot of time here Monday replacing it.

  • In 12 months, all I've done in the shop is re-arrange a few things and try to clean up a little.  Then the LOML hands me a honey-do list. It seems that the hot decorating item this year is tree cut-ou

Hmmm:BlackCloud:Monday?  Not  off to a very good start....guess I can't even stay in bed....:BangingHead:

1 minute, I'm sleeping quite peacefully IN the bed....only to get awakened by a crash....somehow I had landed face down on the bedroom floor..2' down below where I thought I was.....LZ Nose, LZ  Elbows, and LZ Knees were complaining...then Uncle Charles decided to try and help me stand up...by cramping up the legs....and, NO..I did not bounce..that I know of..nor, left a dent in the floor...:JawDrop:

On that note..shop stays closed, today...:PullingHair:

:ChinScratch: My Uncle Charles usually wakes me up so that I have to try to get up so he can throw me into an immediate face plant on the floor. <_<

four large bills and change later, we have a new control board, a new wall console, reprogrammed remotes, and a working garage door.  yay.  Merry Christmas dear, a working garage door for your car sounds like a nice gift.

Monday? :ChinScratch:

Are you sure?

Yep. All day.  The day started with an almost cloudless sky and bright sunshine.  It went downhill from there.

John, thanks for the video regarding the saws.  I did not know that you could adjust the straightness with the back clamp.  (Not the right name, but I forget at the minute.)  That was totally new to me.

Today, home health nurse came and brought an aide.  She will return tomorrow.  I have a dermatologist appointment tomorrow.  Need to go to the grocery store for a couple of things.  Not much since we haven't been home much.  I hope to get a few boards glued together and start a couple of turning projects after getting the tree decorated.  Some shopping to do and it will be finished by Thursday.  It will be time to wrap and deposit.  I am exhausted just thinking about all this.  :D

Have had a bad headache all day, today.    However, repaired where a label had tried to curl up...and then added a second coat of varnish to both boxes....there is a label on the inside of each box, too.....and that was it for any shoptime....

Got my BIL and took a "quick" trip to Atlanta yesterday to pick up a bunch of tables, those suckers are heavy!  Glad I had BIL and a stout handtruck with me.  Then we circled around to the lumber yard and I picked up some ash to work with on a pair of tables.  This will be my first go at working anything nice with ash, I am looking forward to getting started today on it.

Opened up the planer and found two broken cutters. Changed them. Tore into the switch box on the dedicated planer DC and found a bad switch. My tools don't seem to have weathered the move and storage very well. What wasn't lost broke! On the bright side, the pliers and screwdrivers survived unscathed.

This mornings task will be to button up the planer and remove the DC switch and try to find an ID number. Then, back to planing. That DeWalt blows the shavings pretty well. Even without the DC motor operating and, leaving the hoses connected, most debris still ends up in the DC bag.

Heading out to the butcher shop to pick up our first order for this weekend get together with the kids. Pick up SIL tomorrow at Pittsburgh airport, this should give Patti a much-needed rest from caring for her Mom. She has been baking on & off for the last 5 days. I'll do the cooking this weekend and she can spend time with the grandkids.

Best to wait until you install a new one, or repair the one you have to be certified. :P

Well that too. I learned early on,  by volunteering it was like putting money in the bank; withdraw only when you needed it the most:rolleyes:

Still have that headache, today....and everything else hurts....:(.

Will go and check out two boxes...might just be a Project photo shoot day....and not a whole lot else...:ChinScratch:

(although....a stack of aromatic red cedar has appeared on my bench, hmmmmm..:BugEyeSmiley:)
