None this week. Featured link No new links this week. Featured video A nice 6 minute video from one of my favorite YouTube channels "Northmen". It's been a long time since they created a video, this one was made just a few days ago, so the Northmen are at it again. In this video you'll see the joinery used and how they bang it all together, very interesting. "Assembly of Northmen wooden house frame. It took us two months to cut all the joinery and two days to rise it."
November 15, 20214 yr Popular Post Cool video John. I don't know about working that construction barefoot! Daughter made it down for a weekend visit and helped with her entertainment center. In between dr. appointments this week I hope I can get the construction done. That's my story and I'm sticking to it

Annual physical Thursday. I will feel violated on that one for awhile, but will get over it Edited November 15, 20214 yr by Cal
November 15, 20214 yr Popular Post Need to haul in and spread another ton of 1/2" river rock today for Phyl's fountain/flower garden area. Later...if I'm not to beat...back to work on the SCMS dust collection system. One of our sons wants to build a poplar and plywood vanity to be painted. He sent me a Sketchup rendering. I just sent him an extensive list of things he needs to consider, like construction method, style of door and drawer fronts, quality and type of glides and hinges...and more. I'm actually attempting to delay him till the shop is totally ready for work. OTOH, having a project waiting may focus and direct my shop completion.
November 15, 20214 yr Popular Post Still working on mother's battery charging station. She requested a holder for her Ryobi weed eater. I color matched it.
November 15, 20214 yr Popular Post Survived the Friday outings and the miserable damp cold and snow over the weekend. Still have some big items to unload from the truck. Purdue embarrassed themselves on National TV; Granddaughter had another good swim weekend in Ohio, 2nd in both the 400 & 800 Freestyle which I watched via livestream Attended on-line church services yesterday since my wife has been home ill beginning Friday; I'm also doing double duty cooking, laundry, and the like. Weather forecast is not promising for much outside work this week and since the climate controls any "shop" work, little will accomplished there either.
November 15, 20214 yr Popular Post Cold weather setting in. More shop time is inevitable. Made a box yesterday. See Turning Forum for more details.
November 15, 20214 yr Popular Post Hey @steven newman, I need to borrow the one celled Sketch Up. Have to go through my scrap pile and come up with a laptop stand that will fit the center console of the Pilot. Need to have it hold a laptop, and a small monitor above it so's I can read the "Service Manual" and use the "Honda Diagnostic Software" at the same time. Tried using two windows, but on a 12.1" screen these old eyes need a microscope to make out what's being displayed.
November 15, 20214 yr Popular Post Well Howdy Y'all! More of the same at the J.O.B. this week. Datacenter software updates completed last Friday afternoon. Can't say I'm sorry to see that project finished. It's always a grind. Work planned on the VXRails, they are up and running, damned impressive technology, and still need a few odds and ends before I turn them loose in production. From here it's pretty much bolting stuff on. Didn't make it out to the shop over the weekend, broken door and all. At least it's in a state where I can keep it locked, don't want to find myself in a situation where I have to stand guard duty over a stuck open door. .40.

This one goes in my Mother's shop.

Roofing crew got here about 1000hrs this morning...may have been waiting on the 1" of white crap to melt off the roof. Almost done with the Mitre Box rehab.. May try tomorrow to sharpen that DULL saw that came with it....
November 15, 20214 yr Popular Post Love that video and wondered about the barefoot workers. But those mallets and then the guys holding at the head; now that makes the job harder , doesn't it? forgot to add had a tremendous week at the AG and now to restock. Working this afternoon and tomorrow will slow that down Edited November 15, 20214 yr by Gerald
