...and AWOL member has returned from seclusion and requests permission to come back aboard Captain @John Morris

Contrary to fake news, I was not abducted by aliens, did not become an alien nor do I know any aliens. Also untrue that I was lost along the Yellow Brick Road, would ask for directions or lost my Ruby work boots. Also unfounded, I was not in any witness protection programs.

First and most important, my sincerest apologies to all on this forum and especially to those who reached out in some manner or another. My failure to at least acknowledge is inexcusable and perhaps unforgivable. NOTE: I do not (cannot-ISP Issue) receive any PM Notifications via email.

In the past 2.5+ years a whole lot of H2O has flowed under the bridge with some even flowing over both figuratively and literally including the 10.75” of rain since October 1st this year.

During my absence from TPW there have been numerous life challenges. Many were good; others not so much particularly the past nearly nine months since undergoing unexpected/emergency back surgery on March 11th.

No doubt I’ve missed many opportunities to share similar burdens many of you have experienced during this same time frame. For that I’m too am sorry.

Looks like I’ll have to spend a lot of time learning to navigate all the site changes but I’ve become accustomed to relearning how to do things since March.

Anyways, if all, ya’ll will have me back, I’m ready to reconnect and offer my $.02 ( to adjust for inflation since last here) from time-to-time.

Dave

  • Well it is rather odd that @John Morris bought this not long after Dave went missing.  I'm just saying.....

  • Good to have you back, really enjoyed your input during some projects in progress.     @Larry Buskirk you owe me $50, I told you he wasn't abducted by aliens...

Dave, rest assured that we are glad to have you back. I shouldn't speak for the others, but on this one I'm confident. It's good to see you posting again.

Dave Welcome back to the fold. Can we kill the fatted calf tonight or wait till next week?:cowboy:

Yes we have asked several times where you were and thought you must be on an iceberg or at the Antarctic.:throbbinghead:

Welcome back, Prodigal son.  We have all wondered how the heck you are and if you would ever return.  So, it is good to see you raised from the dead.  Welcome back among the living.  It is good to have you back.

In my old age I have learned to just take the good, whenever/where-ever you can get it. Hi, glad you’re still with us.

Thanks Fred. Great to be back and again part of such an awesome group of people. Still have fond memories when you graciously hosted several of us at your place.

Thanks Gerald. Let's  hold off on the calf til next week. Too much excitement for me to handle at once.

As for being on an iceberg, only December thru March. They seem to gravitate up the Wabash River then.;)

Thanks Al. Looking forward to getting reacquainted  as well as getting to know the new to me folks.

I really appreciate you staying in touch during my hiatus. Seems forever ago when we first met on the old Handyman Club forum.

Glad to know you're  doing OK and averted serious damage from the storm.

Thanks "Gator." Yeah I know. My actions didn't align with my words. Just too many plates to keep spinning hoping only a few crashed on the stage.

"Raised from the dead" well I pray I'm in line for that when the time comes but I'll  wait til then.;) However back in March, that option didn't look all that bad. Maybe it was all the pain meds they had me on? At least they were good for a trip 'cause they didn't touch the pain.

It's good to be back. Like I told AlB, long time ago when we all got together on the old Handyman Club site.

Glad you're back Dave.  Let us in on what the aliens taught you.  Do they have virtual saws with no need for the saw stop technologies?  I guess I should start with do they have thumbs and fingers.  Is their sense of humor out of this world?  I have soooo many questions.

Thanks Dan.

You know now that you mention it maybe I was abducted last March. I do recall  very bright lights and several people dressed in blue like gowns but they all had masks, goggles and face shields on so you couldn't  tell who or what they were. I remember one of them sticking some kind of rusty dull wood screw into the back of my hand saying "this is going to burn a little then you'll feel good" and about the same time another one placing a mask over my face telling me "just take normal breaths and count backw....."

When I woke up I was in a totally different place and my wife was there...could have been a scarecrow, tinman and lion too but no little dog or flying monkeys. They came into my room later that night I think.

That pretty much describes a trip to Walmart.
