Another loaded post. Love that jig you are using.  Now gotta see what embellishments Waldt is doing.

 

One question : what is the rod in top of jig for ?

Some good info again Lew.  Thanks.  I watched Mike's threading video and wondered why he was playing with the board on the end of the spindle shaft.  I would have just used a face and registered to it.  Would be much more stable.

Haha, that’s a very long bolt that clamps the HSS cutter in place. When I made that part of the fixtures, I wasn’t sure if it was going to work and didn’t want to waste a long bolt by shortening it. Meant to cut it off just never got around to it.
