... 2020 is gone, done, out of here.

:ChinScratch:..Did any of Y'all usher in the New Year like me?

I myself was studying the inside of my eyelids when the clock struck 12:00 AM.:GoodNight:

So that brings us to the BIG question...(Drum Roll Please)

What's on your first weekend of 2021's agenda?

Yup! :GoodNight:

As for the shop, I'll be trying to re-organize it to make room for a few new (to me) tools acquired over the past two years. A lot of potential turning wood is headed to D.I.L.'s woodstove, and I may be getting rid of a couple of things I seldom use. :(

It rained and some fireworks when I went to sleep.  I don't celebrate the New Years with parties.  Got tired of that decades ago.  Yep, I'm a party pooper.  I had grandchildren coming for breakfast today, so I had to be up by 0700 to cook breakfast.  Project for this weekend is to continue working on this chair.  Back posts are almost loose.  Hope to get them out today.  Then will align them on the Shopsmith and bore new holes for dowels to restore the headrest.  Then will strip and sort of refinish.  It's going to be warm.

Oh, taking down the tree and saving the trunk to make a locomotive.  I will post a process thread when the time comes.

John, I like that old Shopsmith 10ER in the background.  I didn't remember that you had one. Guess I'm slipping.

About 1/3 of the wood. The miter saw may be going too. :( I've had it for almost 40 years. Craftsman, but dead accurate straight out of the box! I kept it because the sliding MS from Costco wasn't capable of an accurate cut, basically only for construction type work. Back in the spring I replaced that one with a FAR superior Makita, so I really don't need the smaller saw any more. Could free up 4' of wall space!

Speaking of which, that's another recent acquisition!

Nothing on the shop docket right now, except for some rehab on a piano bench for my daughter's neighbor.  I have a bit of the reclaimed walnut I might try to do some small projects with.

We are having a deferred family Christmas this afternoon.  Zoom meeting with two daughters and third coming for dinner and gifts.   Will have them get the refinished cedar chest, the electric keyboard table, the annual ornaments for the grandkids, and the Kissmas tree for them.

Two Saturdays in January the woodworking club will do Zoom sessions, one on "4 planes everyone should own," and another on "hand plane fettling and tuning."   Two other weekends, I'll be doing a session that the bee club puts on for beginning beekeepers.  My class will be on how to assemble the "woodenware" -- hive bodies, frames, tops and bottoms, and accessories.

@HARO50so what was the brand on the miter saw from Costco?

Mid 30s here today and about 2" of rain.   Glad it was not 10 degrees cooler and got 2' of snow.

Oh no, we need more organization.  We shall start next project.  It will be a parts washer / sink / finishing supplies cabinet.:JawDrop:

King Canada. Don't know if you have that brand south of the border.
