She gave me a picture of one that her sister had and asked me to duplicate it. It was a porch post that they cut off. Here’s the original and what I built. Ron there is no comparison, yours wins the prize hands down. Herb

This was a plan in the Wood Nov. 2015 issue. I started it when that issue came out (they get mailed about 3 months before the cover date) and right after I started My wife found this house. All my woodworking was put aside while we went through the buying process, and then moving (not to mention selling the old house). I had glued up blanks for the legs and shelf, as well as made a template to trim the legs (flush trim bit). All that was stretched wrapped together and I marked the template with the source issue so I could go back and look. I had completely forgotten about until I moved my remaining small stuff to the shop a few weeks back, and found this in the piles. So I went ahead and finished the legs, put a top together, and have it ready for finish. So 3 years later it's built. Funny thing, we had a use for this at our last house.....not so much in this one. Oh,well. Fred, if you can't find a place for the beautiful table, send it to me. I'm sure Phyl can find a spot for such a fine piece.
October 20, 20187 yr Popular Post No Fred send it to me, if you don't I will have to build my own. HErb

Then, router flattening a mesquite slab for my son. It'll be an end table for which he'll fabricate hair pin legs. After that, either start building a chain driven router lathe, ala Bill Hylton or, build a power carving station with a turn table and, a DC system like Herb built for sanding. All that ought to fill my time till Tuesday. Dunno how I'll spend the rest of the week. Gene this might with your DW735. Not that you need it.

October 20, 20187 yr So glad everyone is productive, healthy and wise, well errrr, two outta three aint bad right! Sad week for our family, my dear friend, aunt, Godmother to my son, and us being the only family she had, passed away Tuesday night, she had a heart attack and died quickly while visiting with a friend at a restaurant. I got the call Tuesday night and I had zero sleep the rest of the night, as I had to field calls from out of state friends, and the hospital and the Deputy Coroner, and much more. I called the boss the next day and told him I could not make it in, and work on the freeways with zero sleep, they told me to stay home and get some rest, but I couldn't as I had to go up the mountain to her home, and look for some directives as to how she should be handled, as I entered her home many emotions came flooding in and I just sat there and asked the Lord why, she was one of His best creations, but that is not for me to know, or to understand, His way is not ours. She was a wonderful person, wise, senior, my spiritual mentor in our Catholic faith, a very profound and wise presence in our family, and I will miss her dearly. Burial is next Saturday, I need to go out and look for a shirt and tie, and coat, the funeral will be simple, just the five of us, my own family, and her. Our son was hurt, she loved him dearly as she did all our kids, but he was special, her God son, and she was his buddy. So we have to wait the rest of this week until we lay her down, it'll be a long week ahead, then it'll all be over. Sorry to wet rag this topic, but I just felt like talking, thanks all for being here, love and peace.

October 20, 20187 yr John, there will be a hole in your life for a long, long time. I had an aunt exactly like yours that died at 92. To this day, I miss her. My condolences.
