August 19, 20169 yr I think we are ALL wood refugees. Every once in a while we take refuge from making sawdust and see what's happening in the world around us (like "meeting" up with friends on the forums - no matter which one). Anyhow, we welcome one and all.

Over the years I wrote a lot of quizzes and Mind benders and I hope you all enjoyed them as well as to get something out of them. It was a great ride and I'll miss all of you folks, however you may email me any time at Ralj7@aol.com or call me at 740 506 3012. Best of luck to each and everyone of you and may the good LORD be with you always. So long for now. August 22, 20169 yr Ralph was here a couple years ago, doing his quizzes, I wonder if we could call the gentleman Ralph Jones out of retirement? I'll try to get in touch with Ralph, it's worth a try, and it sure would be fun to have him here once again. I did not know he dropped off of WOOD, I just assumed he was doing the quizzes this whole time.

April 8, 20196 yr Popular Post There were many fine folks at Wood forum. Ralph was one of them. Happy to read he is doing well. Hope he got his laundry issues fix... LOL Hello Stick. I trust all is well with you. I've been a way from woodworking for a while. Now that I have retired I am slowly getting back into. Main project - my drill press wen t crazy on me. Tried to make a circle cut and darn thing started to move down and got jammed into wood. Any suggestion how to make it lose? Other then a bomb?.... LOL Happy to see many folks I use to chat with. Glad you all are still at it Until we meet again, Ynot

April 8, 20196 yr Popular Post I got into boating and fishing about the time I got online, many forums. Next was the metal detecting, more forums, now I am liking woodworking, forums. Many of the forums have the “I’m the best, everyone else is wrong”. “My way, or the highway”. “Ford/Chevy” mentalities, personalities. I am still active on one metal detecting forum, Tom’s Treasures. Basically it’s here, but metal detecting related. Very helpful, supportive. I am a member of Saw Mill Creek, Router Forums, LumberJocks, Shopsmith, Woodworking Forum, Scrollsaw Workshop, Kreg Community, and probably 4-6 more. A LOT of information out there, but this is the only one I’m on daily. I guess that says it all. I feel free to be myself (Maybe some would wish that I was a little less so???? LOLOLOL), ask questions without fear of ridicule, make a joke, even got to meet AlB. I have seen disagreements here. Opinions were offered, points were made, and no ridicule, or hostility, or venom, displayed. Me Likey it here, and hope it remains as is, as long as possible. Thank you to John, and all who’s work makes this place what it is.
April 8, 20196 yr Popular Post That's why I quit the Wood forum a long time ago. It was "my way is the only right way".
April 9, 20196 yr Popular Post Quite a change for someone known as Whitedog.....I am that fellow....very happy on Morris' site, now.
April 9, 20196 yr Popular Post Quit that forum years ago. Didn't need a bunch of humorless and, arrogant know it alls and, their pontifications.
April 9, 20196 yr I get the Wood Magazine, and got some good ideas out of it. That is where I first got the wooden plane idea, never was on the forum, so don't miss it. Herb
April 9, 20196 yr Popular Post @Dadio, if that's where you got the idea, it was more than well worth the subscription. You've taken it and ran with it.
April 9, 20196 yr Popular Post I lurked for awhile, but like Gene I DIDN'T like some of the holier than thou attitudes. Luckily, for the most part, we got some of the better displaced refugees here.
April 9, 20196 yr Everyone did catch that the original post was 8/11/2016---almost 3 years ago. smitty
April 10, 20196 yr Think that article on plane was Matt and maybe 6 to 8 years ago. Like all WW mags Wood just got repetitive and that just did not interest me any longer.
April 12, 20196 yr Popular Post I subscribed to Wood Magazine for about 30 years. When they dropped the forum, I dropped them. I have also fired AT&T, Direct TV, and would like to fire the U.S. Post Office because of all the trash they deliver to my house! LOL
