Would sure be nice if he would wonder over here and check in. I used to talk to him on the phone but it has been a while.

Well, Gary Keedy must be laughing his butt off right about now.......

I did see the pictures and update on Ralph. Thanks Steven, He still looks good and has lots of family. I wrote on his page and he gave me a LIKE. I will follow his page, I like that guy.

Been busy. We've been traveling a little this summer.

Since we retired there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything done!

Gee Harry, I finding the same thing. How did I do anything when I was working? LOL

I hadn't seen him around for a really long time. You are probably correct; are you in touch with him?

Fred, Gary passed after a battle with cancer a few years ago. I was saddened, he was my cyber buddy big time.

It was sad Fred. Like a true Irishman, he was fighting and joking to the end. You would of been proud.

The only staff member I ever had it out with was the guy on the finishing forum.  He seemed a little high and mighty on several occasions. I eventually stopped checking in on the finishing because the guy would get very heated if you posted contrary to what he said was the golden rule. I don't even remember his name now, I was really disappointed when he didn't show up at Weekend With Wood I had looked forward to seeing if he was as much a jerk in person as he was online.

That being said I always assumed they had to make changes to the forums to keep up with software rewrites etc.  I got a chance to meet all the WOOD Magazine staff at Weekend With WOOD and they seemed really genuine. They had a town hall meeting each year and seemed very open to any suggestions that were made both about the magazine and the website.  I even saw some of those suggestions come to life in the magazine.

When I got my IPhone and WOOD online was really not very suitable for the small screen I started on WoodWorking Talk .com.  That place got hostile really fast and I haven't updated the ap in a while so it wont load on my phone now.  I remember commenting on one or two threads  and one guy seemed to be content on insulting me and making political accusations about me and so on. I eventually told him he was an a hole and never went back.

That would have been Steve Mickley, and he was opinionated. He knew his stuff, but had a gruff way of communicating... kinda condescending. I had tried Wooding Talk for a while as well, high traffic forum, but not for me.

There is one guy that I do miss and had a lot of respect for. Ralph. Ralph was in his 80s, knew woodworking and would share freely.

He lived in Ohio and I had plans to visit him. However life got in the way and I never made it. Hope he still making a lot of saw dust.

If you want...

I have Ralph's contact information and he said to give it to whoever asked for it (privately)..

He does miss the people from there...

did you know he has a new pace maker and is back in pretty good health...

he finally listen to us about relaxing.. he's even going fishing now and working less...

I actually drove down to London , OH to visit with Ralph Jones  for a day.  Wonder how his TV Show went....

I believe he quit that in favor of looking after himself a bit better and doing for him instead of everybody else...

Yes, you can click on a person's name and it will take you to their profile where you can send them a message that is private.

Hope this helps..

When you get that age...you more or less have to.   Quad Bypass for me about july of 2011......have had to slow down since.    About the only things that begin after 60....aches, pains, and pills....

Guess I could meander back down to the Dungeon Shop, and lay out some hand chopped finger joints.....just  to stay a little busy.
