Finished up the components today so now it’s some light sanding and assemble the rest of the carcasses. I also made a new base for my trim router. It’s been needing a new one for a long time.

Yes it is. It’s articulated so I can swing it out over the bench or swing it out of the way when I need to use the entire bench. It holds all the tools I use on a daily or frequent basis as well as fa

I suspect you're going to need some strong backs to move those into position. At least I would since my back isn't strong anymore.

Yep they are heavy. I will bring in two young guys to help me set them. The one problem with using solid wood is the extra weight. But with the current situation with plywood I don’t feel there is a lot of choice. It has certainly changed the way we work. Adding a large drum sander was the biggest change as far as space and money. The next big change in our shop will happen over the next few months. We’ve decided to go full on the MFT system. StaticLV’s shop had a lot to do with that decision. But it just makes sense. Cutting panels of solid wood has issues such as weight and solid wood binds during cutting on the table saw. It is a better solution to cut them on a table as opposed to schlepping them to the table saw. The accuracy and speed of the MFT and track saw system now makes that possible. It won’t solve all the issues but I think it will make life easier.

I have to agree with that, though I haven't done pro work in many years.  Track saws really revolutionized sheet and panel work, even if you don't go full MFT in the set up.  I've done some amazing things on a jobsite with just a track saw.  They make cutting sheets and panels as easy as with those old panel saws you still see around at some home centers, but they are a lot more versatile.  Much as I like a cabinet saw, I mostly use it just for ripping these days.

EDIT:  I'm enjoying all the pics btw, thanks for taking the time to post them.

I milled up all the drawer components today and hopefully will get them all assembled tomorrow.  Normally I use 1/4” cedar ply for the drawer bottom for the cedar drawer but I called all over town and there is none available and they have no idea when they will get some so I will have to use birch ply.

Finished all the drawers this morning and outside of drawer fronts and doors it’s ready for installation so demo of the existing closet should start in a day or two. I took the latter part of the day putting a new top layer on the workbench. Tomorrow I will turn it into an MFT table.

Today was a full day of routering but the MFT table top is done except for the edge trim. Now back to the closet.

Finished up the table. Let’s hope it turns out worth the effort. Most of the threaded inserts are done but either they shorted my order or I was confused. I was 75 short. Hmm.
