I’ve been waiting to get to my own closet since we moved in here. The existing closet is like all the other storage in this house. A study in tacky particle board. I started laminating up the first of the panels today. It will be maple panels with sapelle trim to match the rest of the house.

It was a long weekend of milling, gluing and surface sanding but the panels for the first part of the closet are done. Today and tomorrow is cutting to size and routering before assembly. This is about half the cabinets for the closet.

My wife periodically does me the “favor” of purging all my old work clothes. Problem is it’s always my best stuff. A work shirt that only has a couple of glue spots is just getting comfy. Besides, the glue spots just keep coming. Not like you can stop them. 😎

My crosscut shoe of many years gave up the ghost while cross cutting the big panels. So time for a new one and onward.

Yes it is. It’s articulated so I can swing it out over the bench or swing it out of the way when I need to use the entire bench. It holds all the tools I use on a daily or frequent basis as well as fasteners.

Progress today. The corner unit should be done tomorrow.

Finished the corner unit today putting on the last of the trim. The rest of the closet is fairly straight forward.

Having to revert back to not using plywood has definitely made things more time consuming.
