Been ripping and a-cutting on a few planks...and a Project has been started...:Cheer:

Some of the parts..:OldManSmiley:

June1Project4Maple4Ash.jpg.a94df02b78e6909664308a6aeb9f3e3f.jpg

Then a few more parts..:ChinScratch:

June1ProjectResawsShortyresaw.jpg.68e334e4da4b24039d041e45bc59e77f.jpg

Some other parts needed a little help..:BangingHead:

June1ProjectResawsnotquite.jpg.d75ca949f62c70c56d6cefcc2549e293.jpg

So...we help it out a bit..with a bit of Cardio thrown in..:JawDrop:

June1ProjectResaws.Handsawn.jpg.3437eef716302f3411758bb359873c69.jpg

The goal was to get rid of all the wane, and BIG knots...and fuzzy edges...:OldManSmiley:

One plank used to be a 1 x 8 x 6'...took a while...but..

June1ProjectResawsLongPlankresawn.jpg.9285ccd3a220aecaaf2eb5715e724d4e.jpg

One board was rejected..wonder which one?:WonderScratch:

Had a replacement handy...:SaluteandRun:

June1ProjectResawsreplcetheknothead.jpg.45596e597185b48426a9c1995f5105df.jpg

And..just to make the panel a tad wider...:ChinScratch:

June1ProjectResawsaddsomewidth.jpg.27f82607efe7b0eaf3a70d7a7c02ef52.jpg

That "small knot"?   might get shifted to the outside, and then sawn off..:WonderScratch:

Other parts..

5/8" thick Soft Maple for the sides and back of a drawer...Ash for the 3 aprons and a drawer front...which leaves..:WonderScratch:

June1ProjectLegsde-clamped.jpg.96f6f3021d4865429f4137f5e33fa8c6.jpg

De-clamped them...set up the rip fence to just skim two faces...one to remove the glue lines, the second one was to skim of a face, to get rid of the "Fuzzies", 90 degrees to the first pass

Passes #3 and #4..fence was reset to 1-1/2" width...and the other 2 faces were run through...:ChinScratch:

June1ProjectLegsre-sized.jpg.8e21882b05c8a27068b0fd2861eb0ef6.jpg

Will have to trim the ends square..then decide which two faces to cut the tapers on...:OldManSmiley:

Until then..:Tapping:

June1ProjectLegsreadyforthetapers.jpg.a10e48f491e222f63a9ad2e739ef6ccb.jpg

I'll leave then clamped together.  Need to joint a few edges...:WonderScratch:

June1ProjectLegsblanksforthetop.jpg.1cb2b132d19aed2cd19d34aadd8eb928.jpg

And get these 5 glued up into a top for a table....:JawDrop:

Stay tuned..:cowboy:

Tapered legs...2 faces get tapers cut and planed..one corner gets a bead...so...easy way is to mill the bead first..on the best looking corner.

Need a jig to hold things..:OldManSmiley:

June1ProjectTaperssmoothingdown.jpg.f00ba344885b57bb2bad46d3ab766831.jpg

Block of scrap in the vise, at the other end is a small block..

June1ProjectTaperstools.jpg.88be7f407943577a479abe4546eebc18.jpg

The No. 66 is there to clean up the bead after the #45 mills it...I first run that #80 down the blank..works better for the planes..:OldManSmiley:

June1ProjectTapers1stbead.jpg.29e944879a5e5469ce4646db3a8e0f68.jpg

Run the bead along one face, then rotate the blank. and complete the bead..:SaluteandRun:
