Our Patriot Turners-

@RustyFN posted an update on subject he started a while back. Rusty was looking for plans for a lathe stand suitable for a handicapped turner. Looks like this will be a winner-

Last week's post on our "Off the lathe" generated a great safety tip by @Gerald. Check out the what Gerald mentioned and the new item added to the continuing post.

@Fred W. Hargis Jr showed us his finished table. Fred had mentioned that he was working on turning legs for this project.

I'd say he did a mighty fine job on these! Here's the post Fred made in our "Good Monday Morning" portion of the General Woodworking forum.

Easter in closing in on us. How about turning some easter eggs.

How about those Easy Wood Tools!!

Expand Your Horizons-

A more elaborate Easter Egg-

Texturing can add a new level of interest to your turnings. There are a variety of texturing tool on the market. These two videos introduce some different approaches.

The first video is from a live demo so it's a little long-

Mike Peace uses a totally different tool to create textured details

Richard Raffan ebonizes a bowl with his own mixture of ebonizing solution.

Turning Time With Easy Wood Tools-

Easy Wood Tools introduce the negative rake cutter to overcome the chipping caused by traditional HSS tools when turning acrylics. These cutters leave an amazingly smooth surface on resins and wood alike. They produce continuous streamers of resin as can be seen in this video-

Thanks for the recap Lew.  Fred's furniture legs were a reminder that turnings are used for more than just bowls.  I seem to have forgotten that.

I like this weeks line up of videos too.

That's an interesting observation. I'm hardly a turner, and certainly can't play one on TV, but at this point I do like spindle turning more than faceplate turning. That seems to be the opposite than most of the world.

Fred, I think spindle turning ends up with a very wide variety of objects-
