July 29, 20241 yr Popular Post Dusting off the scroll saw, today. Nothing as ambitious as Jesse does, though. Just a few Christmas things.
July 29, 20241 yr Popular Post Doctor this morning, then some shop time with the grandson's coffee table.

July 29, 20241 yr Popular Post The rolling pin workshop is done. Everyone left with a Celtic knot rolling pin shaped to their preference. I forgot what it was like to stand for 8 hours, as when I was teaching. Next up is an EWT demo in Springfield VA. I need to figure out a quick project that demonstrates the ability of the tools. I usually show the tools and demonstrate the use on a turning blank. At the last demo, the organizer suggested making a complete item-start to finish- with the tools. I'll have to see what I can come up with.

July 29, 20241 yr Popular Post Morning I've been busy, the old cabinets I managed to destroy entirely with my 5 pound hammer and a good sharp pull saw and a sawsall it came apart in about an hour. I ordered an actual stand for my wood lathe. In place where the old cabinets were sitting in my shed/shop I'm going to build another bench there from the materials from the bench that the wood lathe is currently sitting on. How ever the stand for the Dealta Midi lathe requires it to be bolted into the concrete so I'm going to have to figure that one out shouldn't be too difficult. But either way things are getting done. This week while waiting on stuff to get here and in place I'm going to be heavy duty cleaning up and re organizing my shed this week.
July 29, 20241 yr Popular Post Finished the mowing and weedeating Saturday afternoon. Rain came Sunday morning; At least got to enjoy the groomed yard for a few hours. Already had rain this morning after a heavy fog plus rain is in the daily forecast all week so outside activities will be hit or miss. At least we don't need to water the gardens. Speaking of which, enjoying daily rations of both red and yellow "cherry" tomatoes; harvested the first heads of broccoli; wife froze several packages of yellow squash Saturday. We should enjoy first harvest of green beans and sweet corn in a couple of weeks; peas maybe in a week. Regardless, plenty of project lists to choose from so I'll figure out something depending on urgency and motivation charge level. With the heat and humidity in the forecast, it'll be to nasty even to enjoy donuts..

Thanks for sharing the day.
