Park Assist Warning was on day we drove it off the lot. Back-up camera worked OK. I predicted we would be at this juncture every time (which has been more numerous than sands in an hourglass) I talked to Pinocchio that I would end up waiting for this fix once the other was resolved. With all the down-time they had waiting on this or that, one would think they would focus on the low hanging fruit issues as some form of success. But alas, I'm not a used car sales expert ; only a lowly buyer

 

In the whole two days I had the car back in August, I determined RR sensor was not working. Using my highly technical and certified shade tree expertise along with my high end  diagnostic equipment (aka, H-F mechanics stethoscope), I surmised the sensor was NOT clicking. This test is highly recommended as a first step by dozens of certified You-Tube experts. It does require partial removal of the rear bumper cover. A 15 minute real-time job on You-tube. Pinocchio's expert said the sensor checked out fine so it has to be the module. What-ever...it's his dime. Guess we'll know for sure in a month or two.

Tablets stupid autocorrect spilling

Mounted the Guinevere sander, relocated and mounted the vacuum pump to the shelf under the lathe.  Tested the sander out a bit.  It's really quiet and easy to handle.  Redneck engineered a holder for the flexible shaft.  Added the iron mongery in the window in hopes of keeping pieces of wood moving at high speed from taking out the glass.  Wouldn't keep a burglar out for long. 

 

 

 

 

Turned a green pecan bowl.  Measures 6 1/2 x 4.  Used the fluteless gouge to finish out the bottom.  Works just like a gouge and made quick work of a rounded bottom with no tear out.

Why yes, thank you for noticing.

Well this one has been fun.  Final glue up completed for the wife’s bespoke patio chair.

Need to do a final sand and poly it and this one will be completed.

Thanks everyone who helped me out on those shaker pegs, it was frustrating but I learned a lot on that element of the project.

Once this one is wrapped up, I can get started on the next project which is slated to be a tool wall at this point.

Apparently I have been doing that first order accessibility thing absolutely incorrectly and I should probably fix that before it gets out of hand

Went to look at that Ridgeline, owner was at work, told Bruce on phone go ahead look at it. Wife couldn't find the keys.

Bruce wasn't kidding, it's real clean. 

I think I can replace the blown RF brake hose for less than $1600.00.

Talked to Ridgeline owner last evening, told him what I found, He said his SWMBO still says get rid of it.

He said it still runs, but has no brakes.  The keys were in his 2017 Ridgeline.

So to make things "Legal" and to avoid getting hit with sales/gift tax on "Blue Book" value he said give me $1.00 and I'll have a receipt ready. 

Bruce asked if  I thought we could tow it with his tow-bar, I asked him how far is it from his house in Antioch, he said its about 2 1/2 miles. 

Being it's a 4WD I told him no, I'll drive it that far, wouldn't be the first time I drove with only a parking brake.

I drove back from up north in the winter a few years ago 300+ miles with only the parking brake. That was a nail biter.

Believe me Cal, I didn't see that coming.

I know why the dealer stated around $1600.00 for the brake work.

After replacing the blown hose and bleeding the system the ABS, and VSA systems need to be recalibrated.

Had to do it on the 06 Pilot, requires having a HDS/HIM, or scanner with programming functions.

cars and trucks, whilst i was over in chandler town yesterday looking at some slabs, (ole boy wanted exotic prices, so passed) but i did not come away empty handed, this followed me home. and i like it.

lol, you betcha and that was the idea, a fun ride, a toy, have always driven a truck since the first kids showed up in the 70s, or a suburban or u know a big car for hauling kids and junk, so, i treated myself to a retirement gift, only issue i had to learn how to get in it, and the real challenge was to get outta the dang thing, but it sure is a hoot to drive.

Put the top down and you can carry nearly infinite lengths of stuff
