It will be interesting to see if the new engine fixes the problem.  I cannot think of any reason why anything in the short block would cause a misfire, anything that wouldn't have been found already given what's been looked at.

This sounds like a job challenge that @Larry Buskirk would salivate over!

I've sure been following along, please keep the updates (?) coming.

Maybe when I get Bruce's van done.

I'm still trying to figure out his SRS (Air Bag) system. :WonderScratch:

Have two codes for drivers side deployment loop. B0024, & B0026.

Beginning to wonder if it didn't have an air bag deployment, previous owner very vague about the sandwhich collision the van was in. Also have a feeling they were in there trying to reset things.

Repairing the front impact sensor harness did clear the DTC for the impact sensor circuit..

I really need to find a FSM for this. <_<

Bruce mentioned the instrument cluster didn't light up well.

With only one out of nine bulbs working I think I figured that out. ;)

Bruce said lets just change it out with a boneyard one, I told him HE gets to program it. He's like program it!

(Yes, it requires programming in the milage, and VIN, or the vehicle will not start. And there's only a half dozen or so different instrument clusters depending on what engine, and wheter it's a 1500, 2500, or 3500.)

I told him that replacing the bulbs would be the least expensive option, (Also won't require programming) so we're waiting on replacement bulbs. (May also clear the B0951 dimmer circuit code that so far refuses to clear)

Found a place that sells 50 bulbs for $9.98 with free shipping. (GM wanted $8.38 each same bulb number.)

They're solder in grain of wheat type bulbs.

I'm hoping so too Cal but I'm skeptical. I forgot in yesterday's rant the heads also had been R&R'd, de-carbonized and valves ground.

@Larry Buskirk and @Gunny have both graciously given me their time over the phone. Obviously both were disadvantaged not having the vehicle but both gave some great advice plus just chatting in general. We didn't solve the Buick problems but pretty sure we solved most of the world ills.😂

I'm sure Larry and Gunny gave you great advice.

FWIW, my .02 cents would be to trade it for a FOMOCO product.

 I think Gramps has enough problems already without going there.

Looking for any suggestions.

Painted my daughter's room 18 years ago using this denim wall look.  This process involved a glaze to achieve the effect.

HOW do I remove it and return the walls back to say a solid color?

Yuck.  Sandpaper.  It might be enough to just break the glaze so primer will stick.  Worse case, try floating a section with mud.

I almost went with that model! After a year of waiting on the Ford Maverick, I was just about ready to give up but they came thru.

My wife has had Hondas for a lot of years. She has survived several nasty accidents and the Hondas have survived her lack of mechanical understanding.

Cool beans. Great color choice IMO. Gonna be tough to toss wood in the back of 'Ole Harry.

We have bought 8-10 cars through CarMax over the years.  They make it a very straightforward transaction.  No pressure, no haggling, and fair to all parties.

Maybe in your area, around here you may just as well go to Worst Buy the way they follow you around.

BTW Nice truck.

Hey Gunny, do the walls have some sort of texture now caused by the paint and glaze?

If not, you likely could simply prime the walls with an oil base or shellac base primer before painting.

If the walls do have an unacceptable texture, you still might have to use that ob or shellac primer to give a skim coating of mud a surface to adhere to.

This sounds like one of those "no good deed goes unpunished" things. I'm not sure I've ever seen such a thing.

Gene, that is a piece for sure, man what a beautiful job, and design, and style, all of it. So, walnut base, what is the top? I know what you are finishing the top with, what'd ya go with on the base?
