Friday Sept. 2nd 2022-What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

It's really Friday folks, and you won't get any "Math Tests" from me. :D

Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I did my "Math Test" earlier during the week when I had the windsheild replaced on the Pilot.

For what the glass shop I went with charged, I figured it would cost me about the same amount to do it myself by the time I bought everything needed to do the job. Basically came out to about a $15.00 difference, and I wouldn't have to deal with manhandling that big piece of glass. :WhoMe:

:ChinScratch: $15.00,  and they do the work.

:throbbinghead:

Worked for me!!

So, What's on Your Weekend Agenda? :WonderScratch:

I miss the good 'Ole days when I could go to the local fertilizer plant with a 20lb LP tank, get it filled with anhydrous ammonia, return home, attach a hose with a pipe wand, insert in the run, turn on the valve then wait. No more 6 weeks until spring then. Sigh....yep those were good times.

Big plans!

Not sure what they all are yet, but they will be big :D

I will start today with a final coat of paint on the crown moulding, followed by a quick (I hope) trip to CVS for a flu shot.  This afternoon, weather permitting, is time to mow the lawn.  That should give the ol' arm enough of a work out to prevent any flu shot stiffness. ;)

Saturday afternoon, 3:30 Eastern, I will be in front of the tv... likely in the shop, but the tv will be on.  Time for some college football - specifically UGA college ball.  Defending national champ UGA college ball.  Hope we win :Cheer::Cheer:

Sunday is our daughter's birthday, she said she will come down to visit.  I'm guessing there may be cake and ice cream :P

Monday holiday, maybe hang some crown moulding up?

Gotta collect and, box a batch of blades to have sharpened. That will mean a trip to Phoenix, some time next week. Hey @knockonit, you wanna grab a cuppa some where?

Window regulator showed up about 7P last night for the Trailblazer so that's first on the agenda today while it's still coolish. After, quick trip to convenience mart to fill gas cans, then mow this afternoon.

Tomorrow, SIL has asked me to attend a car show with him and the grandsons. Local car club is the sponsor. Show is about 45 minutes away in a State Park. SIL has entered his Dodge Charger. Club estimates 300-500 entries for this event.

Sunday, church responsibilities. After, TBD but my keen ear to the rail:OldManSmiley: has picked up a cookout may be in the works followed by S'mores at the firepit assuming weather cooperates.

I get Monday off since it's a Holiday:rolleyes:...come to thing of it, so does Mrs. Grandma Grandpadave. I better replenish the job jar excuse list...gotta go...

Got Steve the Gunsmith "who owns a truck" to drive up to Home Depot with me yesterday evening and pickup the Sjoberg bench.  Eventhough it's only 4.3' long it weighs in at #277.  Will be assembling the bench and moving it out to the shop this weekend.  Meanwhile Steve will pickup the old bench to use as an assembly table at the gun store. I'm going to miss the t-tracks.

Now that the dust collector is working again I need to collect the large accumulation of dust and chips.

Instead of milling a groove in the new bench for t-track, I'm going to fabricate a couple of reverse-bench dogs to take their place.  Won't be quite as versatile as t-track but will get the job done.  Basically this will be a turned spindle to fit the dog-hole with a tapered shoulder at the base and a bolt epoxied into the other end.  Just insert the dog from the bottom and "shazam, abracadabra, excelsior" an instant attachment point for bolt on jigs and fixtures.

PS:

The workbench is hereby granted the name Inga.  As in "Inga from Sweden 'ya"

Great! When I get my act together, I'll give you a jingle. The sharpener is Valley  sharpening at 712 N 35th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009. I have no idea where that is.

Now that the truck is here, I guess I'll have to do some tree trimming and take the branches to the drop off place- dang!

About 30 years ago I had a neighbor/farmer that was gassing them in his mother's barn with Anhydrous....only he was using the trailer of it used for fertilizing the corn. The story goes that he had so many he couldn't figure out which 2 holes matched up. He gassed one that had the other end very near where he was standing, and he caught a small whiff of it leaking out the end near him. He did explain to me it was the last time he'll do that, fromm then on he was planning on shooting them.

Well that works too. Last one I got a couple of years ago the dog cornered by foundation crawl space window well. Too close for the .22 pistol. A piece of 1" conduit  about 4' long worked well in that instance. Dog bailed on me though once I started swinging the pipe...got a weak stomach I guess.

i might help a neighbor fix a coffee table with broken bread board ends.  tenon and dado joint that got snapped during a move.  think i'll just cut them off and use biscuits to attach the ends.  has a distressed white painted finish that i could not possibly match/repair, so have to be gentle on handling the top.
