Phyl had a bad reaction to the booster. So. I took over the vacuuming job this morning. Today's shop time will be gluing up panels.   My shop time recently, comes in varying lengths of spurts, di

It's 03:00, the day after Sunday and, a10:05 eye doctor appt. looms. Never been to this place. Google says it's 40 minutes away. EVERYTHING is about 40 minutes away.

There's a tiny growth in the nasal corner of of the left eye. This appt. Will likely be to schedule surgery to remove it. By the time I get back,  it'll probably be too blasted hot for shop work. Plus, it'll be time for lunch and, the obligatory nap. ;)

Yesterday, all the Limbert table leg panels (12) got glued up. After the nap, I might brave the heat and do a bit of squeeze out scraping. Then, tomorrow I can start the rough sanding.

Good luck! Eye surgery has come a long way in the past couple of decades.

Dad had one eye lens replaced last Monday. In and out in ... three hours? And two days later he took a six hour drive.

Best to you on the eye appointment, Gene. Hope things work out different than surgery.....wearing an eye patch in the heat would be miserable, not to mention the general inconvenience.

Thanks, Fred. A short time with an eye patch would be a small inconvenience to relieve the present irritating condition. Besides, a black one would befit the pirate look, what with that do rag and, all.

A side benefit: the left glasses lens wouldn't wear out as fast.

Good luck Gene.  Too bad you can't put it off until September.

They rent or lease parrots out there? Gotta have a parrot:Laughing:

If you can’t get a parrot, I am sure someone around here can turn you a new leg though :)

Yea!! No surgery!! Doc said it's no big deal. Prescribed some drops and, sent me on my merry way. He sent the order to a Walgreens Drug on Thornydale. There's two on Thornydale. Miles apart. ...Yep. I went to the wrong one first. Finally got the drops and, got home 4 hours after I left. I was knackered. Took a looong nap.

With Pima County's population density you're lucky it was only a few miles.

Last year at a communal breakfast table in Kansas, I remarked about crushing congestion and high population densities within some East coast cities. The farmer's jaw dropped. He said, maybe, they might have three families living on one section. That was at most.

Really good news Gene...glad things went well.

Our place out here is 1 1/2 acres. Where we moved from, we were on 26 acres. Maintaining 1 1/2 acres is much easier.

Pima County's population density, including the city  of Tucson,  is 111 per sq. mi.

There are huge tracts of Pima county that are totally uninhabited. What with all the municipal, county, state and, national parks, little is left in private hands. And, a lot of that is cotton fields. In fact, only 15% of the entire state is privately owned.

I'd want 20 acres in the shape of a panhandle jutting into otherwise inaccessible BLM land or state forest.

If you relish living off grid and, many do, there's plenty like that available. Access to the properties and access to water is touch and go, however.

We know a lady that bought a mobile home 15 years ago in just such a location, as an investment. Last we heard, she still owns it. :(

Went to the funeral of a good friend Saturday.  He and I had gone to the same church for 20+ years.   We had been on a mission trip to NM together and worked on converting a room to an "upper room chapel" -- wainscoting all around, cabinets for sound equipment, altar table, lectern, and kneeling bench.  I had gotten him involved in the woodworking club and he had done many charity projects for that -- most notably hundreds of "memory boxes" for a local place for children dealing with loss of parent or sibling.

On a positive note, eldest granddaughter had a piano recital and 17th birthday Friday evening.  And Sunday drove up to northern Ohio to see two other granddaughters' dance recital.
