I completed the prototype drawer front and she liked it so I managed to get 10 of the smaller ones made. There are 27 of the small ones and then five larger ones. She wanted a flush pull that was routered in.

With all the stuff going on around here the pantry is moving slowly. I managed to get the sanding of everything done and all 300 pegs glued in on Sat and then yesterday put the first coat of finish on

  • Going to be a nice upgrade, Paul!   One note, from experience with built in Lazy Susan storage, if something falls off (and it will) it always lands at the farthest back corner.

You’re right about that Lew. I make my lazy Susan’s using Shaker pegs on the perimeter spaced about 2-2 1/2” apart. They look great and also give your fingers something to grab.  Paul

I like them because they are very simple and quick to do and she likes the look. They are especially nice with a contrasting wood behind them as in this case with the maple drawer behind the mahogany front.

Today was just a lot of sanding getting the small drawer fronts done and the first coat on.

Finished off the last four larger drawer fronts and milled and glued up all the panels for the rest of the project. I will hopefully have this project wrapped up over the long weekend.

Good day in the shop. All the drawer fronts are on, counter top on and additional cabinet about 70% done.

Geez! :Praise: Putting that closet together reminds me of one of those wooden square puzzles, where you have to slide and lever and push the slats in the correct order to assemble.

Excellent design and execution for the space Paul. I'd have to take out a mortgage to stock that one.:P

Very well done. Thanks for sharing the journey with us. What's up next? Maybe a week on the water to celebrate.:D

This weekend we do our annual journey to Petco Park to watch the Padre-Dodger series. We leave this morning. Thanks for all the kind words. This is her third iteration of a pantry design like this so she has it pretty honed down to what she wants. Right down to the inset drawer handles.
Paul

What can I say?  I look at the work you've done in your home and am in awe. Your designs and craftsmanship is amazing.

Today was making a paper towel roll dispenser. They go on the very top shelf and are always falling down on her so she wanted a dispenser of sorts. This is what I came up with. I decided to do all the jointery using the Shaper Origin. Looks like it will work.
