March 25, 20224 yr Popular Post Friday again folks and here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" the wife caught back up to me age wise. She gets to call me an for eight days a year, then payback time comes when I bring her morning coffee. Still waiting on things to dry up a bit. The driveways ready for "Mud Racing" competition. Parts of the yard are under water. And of course "Mother Nature" is sending us more for today, with a possibility of it turning to snow later today. In the meantime I'm working on restoring an old General Electric 12" oscillating desk fan that somebody put out for "Curb Shopping". Doesn't look to shabby for a 90-100 year old does it? It was missing the cage clamp brackets, screws, and the blade set screw when found. I was actually surprised to find out that the screws and set screw were metric (6mm x 1.0 thread pitch). The clamps I made from 1/2" x 3/4" corner braces. Still need to rewire, but it does run on all three speeds. So that leads to the weekly question, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
March 25, 20224 yr Popular Post Still working on a "drink tray" for Marie (think miniature TV tray), otherwise nothing here...weather will be a little inclement this weekend.
March 25, 20224 yr Popular Post Playing around with a bandsaw jig for creating Celtic knot turning blanks. Had to order a new 1/2" bandsaw blade. The one I have kept setting off the smoke detector!
March 25, 20224 yr Popular Post Set construction for the June show, "Descendants", starts Saturday. And my strawberry plants are set to arrive. Don't know if I'll get them in or not, due to weather. Edited March 25, 20224 yr by kmealy

March 25, 20224 yr Popular Post Invited to dinner at oldest 2 daughters residence for Saturday and to hang pictures for them. Perhaps a little turning as I have a few more spring snowman requests to fill. Shop cleaning always can happen...And, if it is a usual weekend, a surprise adventure or two. Too muddy to walk for artifacts in my normal spring haunts. Enjoy the weekend.

March 25, 20224 yr Popular Post Took a walk today. Climbed a hill. Listening to Aubrey / Maturin #13 audiobook. Tonight begins one week of cold damp weather. Monday and Tuesday it'll drop to 23˚. And the exterior hose is already on!

March 26, 20224 yr Cardiac Cath revealed only 2 40% blocks..... so two new drugs to teach. This leaves me doing nothing for two days and then no lifting greater than a jug of milk for the next week
March 26, 20224 yr Popular Post Larry, if it's any consolation we're getting snow rain sleet mixture a few blocks north of you. for my weekend plans it's drive up to Manty to help a friend replace a rotted subfloor in their kitchen, then it's back down to She-town for a friend's retirement get-together. Sunday I have to carve and paint a parking sign for our new E.R. at the Elks lodge, then start building some birdhouses for a friends store over in Mad-town. I'm looking for plans and inspiration for some of these bird houses if anyone has a few leads . and if this rain ever eases up I'll attempt to clean winter's mess out of our yard

March 26, 20224 yr Popular Post Late to the table today. Very, very busy for me. First off, trip to big city for haircut. Takes longer to park, walk in/out than the actual work anymore. Next off to Rural King to pick up bird seed, a few other items and my new S&W, "hole shooter." Only shoots 9mm holes. On to Harbor Freight for a few items with 30% off <$20 this weekend for ITC members. Back home, unload some stuff, PU granddaughter, drive to meet up with her dad for tonight. Back home unload and tote bird seed through mud to storage shed, clean fill feeders, gather totes, boxes for tomorrow's adventure picking up auction items. Church Sunday then birthday celebration for oldest grandson. He'll be 11...in 5th grade...5'-7" tall. So be prepared Monday, I'll likely be calling in sick.

Instead of lifting the milk jug, try red wine maybe. My doctor actually prescribed that a few years back...careful on the dosage though.

What a great find Larry. Cant imagine anyone just tossing that out but good on you to rescue it. Looking forward to seeing this one through. I'll drag mine out and get some pictures. It belonged to my grandparents...circa 1930. I haven't refurbished it yet.

March 26, 20224 yr Popular Post Gerald, wishing you the very best! Larry, great find. That's going to be a real treasure. Gunny, fantastic news! G-pa Dave, thanks for the heads up. You are excused. Grandkid's birthday celebrations can't be missed. Nor can the cake and other goodies. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Remember to have fun! And, above all, stay safe.
