February 3, 20224 yr Popular Post No, not the band, today's little project. neighbor has a new little boy, and a kitchen island (mobile) without doors to hide the stuffs. so i'm building her some doors to hide the stuffs from soon to be very curious little boy. 4 doors required, 2 pairs of 2. the insert will be punched metal, using designs she is working on, and then done with tools I already have. they will be painted, so Poplar is the go to wood. cost was $3.81/linear foot for 1x6, so almost $8/BF. Faint. Walnut was running around $20/BF. and I needed 12 feet of lumber. so much for cheap favors. got the pieces and parts cut, so they are gluing over night, more tomorrow.
February 4, 20224 yr Popular Post Good on you Dab. Handles & knobs next with child proof zip locks next.
February 4, 20224 yr Popular Post Good looking doors. Nice clamps, too! Looks like they're all glued up. How is the metal inserted?

February 4, 20224 yr Popular Post Clamp envy, Gene? Wait until you see my Pony 3/4" pipe clamps with c.1927 brass pipe But I only have two. The 1/2" one, the head swivels too much for me. Beautiful effort, DAB. Can you show us the corner joints? I've built one two-panel "partition" using mortise • tenon joints, <mumbling> cut on a table saw. Holding up so far but have a feeling the correct corner joint is routed? Edited February 4, 20224 yr by Dovetail image format editing
February 4, 20224 yr Author Popular Post got the back portion of the dado routed off, sheet metal cut to size. just your standard dado and tenon joint.
February 5, 20224 yr Popular Post Really nice job , Dab can hardly wait to see final product. Without invading your customers privacy it would be neat to see them installed.

February 6, 20224 yr Thanks John. I appreciate that. Did you see my snack tray cabinet? It's not up to the level of your projects, and some of the others on TPW, but I would be interested to read what you think.
